They did mine in January 2011, i would recommend them to anyone considering having it done.
My MK2 picked up today another great job.
Ric
Looks great, it will still look as good years down the line
My 280 Capri was done in 2005. My X Haynes Museum Pug 306 in 2008 (now sold) and now the MX5, should get shares in the place

Hi Rich it looks a realy good job, do you know if they take the plastic inner wings off or is that someting you have to do yourself I don’t mind taking them off and did they underseal in the exhaust silencer heat shield area.
Cheers Alan
Good Evening Alan,
It is another Great Job by Jack and Richard at Chassis Clean I can not recommend them highly enough. They did point out that I had some corrosion on the front chassis legs and I will be getting that repaired with new steel. They do take all the plastic inner wings off and all the underbody plastic shields. I do not think that the Exhaust Heat Shield was removed but I would say that they would have gone behind it if there is the smallest of gaps between the heat shield and the underbody. I have a few before pictures and all the surface rust was treated before application of wax and underseal. I will post them on here if you wish but if you PM me your E Mail address I will send the complete Album
Cheers
Ric
Very impressed, will look into getting “Poppy” done
Lemon question time:
How did they do it so thoroughly yet keep the shocks, brake components clean and clear of the black gunk?
Really good job and (AFAIC) well worth the money when similar cars start rotting 5 years hence…I wonder how much to do my Transit?
They mask them off., have a look at their website www.chassisclean.co.uk, they rustproofed my now sold mx5 a couple of years ago and did a great job.
I suppose there is a chance that the drain holes underneath may get blocked with the gunk they put on, do you know if they blank off the drain holes before spraying or brushing on the gunk, then cleaning or removing blanking plugs as necessary.?
Gales
I had no problems with the drain holes being blocked , chassisclean have done a few mx5’s , they are very thorough and are aware of all the problem areas, as i said in my last post have a look at their website. Hope this helps
Regards Jan
Last time I spoke to Chassis Clean they said the most common one they do is the MX5’s.
Mine is in next week, so will review then hopefully be exactly the same as all others have commented.
It will be have had three cars done now the first 8 years ago. Still have that car (280 Capri) still looks good.
Ric
They did an absolutely smashing job on mine 4 years ago. Still looks perfect today - had the alignment done the other day and the adjuster bolts that hadn’t moved in 20 years undid like they were put on yesterday which say something. As for the drain holes. If you are worried feed an unravelled metal coat hanger down from the inside and check after - this is how I clean mine periodically anyway.
It seems like a lot of money, but when you break down the costs its very reasonable for a tough job, and the standard of work is very high indeed.
Hi,
Just got mine back yesterday from Chassis Clean and it looks brilliant! Very impressive job!
Well worth it!
Rich
