I had mine Dinitrolled at Suffolk Mazda a few weeks back.
Same process as described but was charged £150!!!
Should I be worried?! I don’t have the luxury of a ramp but I have no reason to suspect that anything other than a decent job was done. They know their stuff for sure!
If they are a franchised dealer charging £60 plus per hour and you take out the cost of the raw materials then I cannot see how they have spent much time on the job. Chassis Clean take a couple of days to do the whole job which involves a great deal of cleaning, drying, masking and then spraying. I had mine done a couple of years ago.

With respect, every MX5 should be rust proofed properly at Hiroshima when they are assembled, its a bit rich dont you think when they are charging to have a MX5 done at a Mazda dealership.
When i booked the lady said they were just doing 1 a week and down to just 1 guy part time.
I hope all is ok with them.
Im sure dave at suffolk mazda will have done a good job but ive been so impressed by everything ive seen and heard about chassisclean that its gotta be them…if there still going.
Sad news but if Jack is still doing them up until now I know he was debating going part time when mine was done this confirms that but I have to say I am not surprised.
Sounds like we are going to have to find another replacement in the north for services like this.
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but we get a club reduction with Rustmaster?
There was an article in December 2013? issue of STHT by Norman Hughes although that was before I’d joined the club. Search for Rustmaster on this site and there are various threads where Rustmaster is mentioned.
Not used them myself, they sound okay, if not as good as Chassis clean.
I seem to remember one of the lads in my area having used them and he was pleased with what they had done.
I have tried to contact Chassis Clean but found them out of circulation, as confirmed by the postings on the Forum when I looked this evening. Our second 5 would benefit from some of Jack’s enthusiasm and commitment that he showed when treating our first 5. It was a very sad day when they stopped operating. There appears to be few outlets for the use of Dinitrol, which seems far better than the Waxoyl treatment. I did find a firm in Malvern called STP Motor Services from the Dinitrol website. I shall contact them tomorrow to see if they do actually still use Dinitrol, but in the meantime, has anyone any experience or info. on this company, please? Also, has anyone found an alternative in the Midland area where they use Dinitrol?
With regards to Rustmasters, I see that they use Waxoyl.
It is a loss that Chassis Clean are no longer operating, if using Rustmaster please make sure you know exactly what is being offered from the application, there have been varying reports of under panels not being removed and box sections not being filled.
Chassis Clean did take three days to jet wash, dry, apply. Not something that can be done in a day.
Last month I had two 1 year old VW’s on my 2 post lift as I was putting their summer tyres back on.
I took the oppertunity to have a look at the rust proffing.
There are not as many missed areas on the VW as Mazda miss but there were large areas on the transmission tunnel that had been painted but not rustproffed.
On the other hand if the cars are well rust protected then there will be less people to buy new cars from the factories.
DINITROL TREATMENT IS ALIVE AND KICKING IN THEMALVERNS!
With reference to my previous posting, I made contact with STP Motor Services, Malvern, Worcestershire -
Tele. No. 01684 563307 Post Code: WR14 1AT - earlier today to confirm that they actually do the Dinitrol treatment for cars. Good news for us Midlanders who prefer the Dinitrol way?
Prices…£240+ VAT for the full treatment - chassis, box sections, arches, bonnet, boot and doors.
£150+ VAT for the basic underseal process.
Waiting time for booking an appointment at the moment is a few weeks, with the car in for a couple of days at the least.
I have booked our 5 in and I shall follow up with the results once the job has been done. Let’s hope they are as good as Chassis Clean.
It’s a two car trip for the delivery and collection but it will be an opportunity to visit National Trust venues to make the trips worthwhile on 2 occasions It’s an age thing!
Hopefully, this information might be of use to other Dinitrol devotees in this part of the country.
We’ve been thinking of having this done to our MX-5 but didn’t fancy the two return trips halfway across the country to someone who would only use Waxoyl. This is a much better solution for us. Do let us know how you get on.
Do they have a website - I haven’t been able to find anything?
I could not find a website and forgot to ask if there was one when I spoke to the guy on the telephone. Will find out when we take our 5 down for the treatment. Their basic contact details are on the Dinitrol website.
Meanwhile, I shall be the guinea pig to test them out early next month…?..!
I have posted a message elsewhere but just in case anyone is not looking in that direction…After a nearly 2 hour trip to Malvern from Shrewsbury we found STP Motor Services on an industrial estate in Malvern. Thank goodness for the sat. nav.! It is a small unit, looking well used but, considering that Morgan cars regularly use their services for treating new Morgans, it obviously has credibility. The main guy I spoke too was very helpful and the staff looked very competent. In the end, our car was there for 5 days because 3 new Morgans were delivered for treatment and they always take priority, so you need to be patient. It was just the luck of the draw! However, the finished results under our car, looking at the bits you can see, look brilliant and, if I can persuade our Volvo garage to let me put our car up on a ramp/hoist, I shall be able to take some photos of the results.
Cost of the Dinitrol treatment may seem more than the Waxoyl process but we feel that firstly, it is better, and secondly it was very worthwhile in helping to keep out car fit and safe for another 13 years - it’s life to date - and anyway, it’s only money!
Please post some pics here when you can. As it stands, I am still supposed to be booked in at chassisclen in september but Im not sure if that will go ahea, and at 450 its consierbly more than your place in Malvern.
There both similar istance from me as Im up in York an dont mind the travelling.
Right, having just mastered the process of attaching photos in the other section of the Forum, I shall try to duplicate it here. Thanks to the masters of the website for making it much easier to add attachments, compared with when I tried many years ago without success.
