After a successful evening track day at Snetterton (weather let us down a bit) we still managed to get seven eastern region owners to put their cars on the track and give passenger rides to all who attended and more.
To spread the track day events around the eastern region I am organising a track day on Saturday the 8th September with javelin Track days at woodbridge, Suffolk with the same idea as the Snetterton event to promote the MX5 on track, and give owners a chance to either put their cars on track and see what they can really do or just come along for passenger rides in other peoples cars. This is an all day event and more information about the event and booking information can be found on the following link: http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=454itemid&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1 I have approached project Merlot to see if it is available to help with this event and will let you know when i have an answer. Due to the short time scale the prices will soon start to increase and it is advisable to book early if you are interested
If you have any question please put them on the forum or PM me. To help if you are interested or have gone ahead and booked, can you please notify via the forum to let others know.
Good to see this post, we should be at this event Marshaling out on track looking after you all, its a good layout. At the beginging of the year i went up to RAF Wittering were there was a few cars from the MX5 o.c, were i went out for a few fast lap rides, (grate fun ).
Hi Lee, do please come along. The whole idea of the track day event is to promote the MX5 on track and to give passenger rides. Please bring a helmet if you can and a top to cover your arms when on track. Just come and introduce yourself to the gang when you arrive and we will get you sorted.
Hi Jude, Not sure about this one, i will make some inquiries, might be able to get you out to a Marshall’s post or the track entrance point, i will speak to Javelin and let you know. It would be nice to see you there anyway.
hi pete, there is a roped off section for spectators in the paddock which is near the track. it is very unlikely that spectators will get to on track near a marshall post and i certailnly have never known it as us marshalls have no protection out there. just thought would give u a heads up before u speak to anyone, we are normally quite syrict if anyone goes past the rope section and point them back in that direction.
Woodbridge would be good for you, all the cars park up either side of a concrete strip which from memory is resonably smooth and this leads directly to the veiwing area, you can only see a small bit of the track but usally a good group of people watching from there as is the only place to watch from! that is presuming they haven’t changed it, hope this helps.
If you fancy a pasenger ride at a speed of your choice just ask
Hi Rich, welcome aboard, a standard road car is all that is required. I would not think that the US license would be a problem, but it would be best to check with Javelin the organisers. There details can be found on the link on the original post. I would not leave it too long as the price will increase closer to the day of the event. All details will be e-mailed to you nearer the date. If you need any help just PM me.
