I concur the 1.5 is a belting engine and I have covered 9000 miles this year in mine!

Staffordshire Police also used them late 1960s. I once drove an H reg ex police one my Dad bought. Seemed swifter than the normal spec, I agree they had a distinctive exhaust note!
The Morris Minor really did have a very characteristic farty exhaust sound, like nothing else. It never occurred to me that it could be the drivers…
