Has Anyone Lowered Their ND. Mazda Eibach Lowering Kit

Would be interested to read members feed back if they have have had their ND lowered with the Mazda supplied Eibach lowering kit.

i.e. handling improvements vs ride quality etc.

I’m about to have Eibach pro-kit springs and a specific alignment setting done, drop will be about 30mm. Objective is to reduce roll slightly and sharpen the steering without sacrificing ride comfort too much.

Would be very interested to know what you think once the work is completed, please let me know, as I’m looking for the same results as yourself.

Yes please let s know how this goes as I too am looking at this option

Will do, should be in the next couple of weeks hopefully

Getting done tomorrow

Would be interesting to know what model your ND is, does it have the Bilstein shocks fitted as standard.

1.5 Sport Nav, not Bilstein.

Does the MK4 Recaro have bilstein shocks fitted the same as the 2ltr sport, I’m wondering how the Eibach lowering kit would ride with the bilsteins. I can’t find anyone on the forum who has had the lowering kit fitted with bilstein shocks.

it’s equipped with Bilstein dampers yes.

I have to say something just doesn’t feel planted enough for me so I’m looking at the lowering to see if it gives the same result i achieved with the MK3 Roadster I had

As a ‘very slight’ diversion to the topic, does anyone know why the the springs for the NB on MX5 parts are much dearer than the ones for the ND?

Took a while to convince myself over comfort/practicality verses handling, but I’m very happy with the look and characteristics of the car now. Speed bumps aren’t quite the worry that they were at first, now I’ve mastered it…

I considered getting uprated springs with Bilstein dampers but in the end went with BBR springs with Koni dampers. The Bilstein dampers could definitely do with uprated springs.

I know exactly what you mean, my MK3.5 Miyako with the Eibach springs fitted felt really planted and precise, and gave me great confidence.

I feel my MK 4 2ltr Sport could be much more planted than it actually is, but I haven’t found anyone who has had the Eibachs fitted in-conjunction with the Bilstein dampers. It would be very helpful to get some first hand feedback.

My local Mazda dealer has quoted £366 to supply and fit the Eibachs along with a 4 wheel alignment check, which I think is a reasonable price. My car would be the first MK 4 2ltr Sport they have fitted the Eibachs to.

Just need some feedback from someone to allow me to make the correct decision.

Did the modification make the car feel more planted?  assume your car was lowered 30mm?

As an aside, found this on the BBR website - re headlamp auto leveling after lowering the car.

Here we are with the ‘just lowered’ look, and aligned… will post more later - it’s good

Yes it does, it’s  transformed the car!

Yes it’s needed as when the car is lowered the system thinks there is a lot of weight in the back so the main beam alignment is reduced to stop dazzling oncoming traffic.

Looks great Ian…
