My car is definitely not a “garage queen”…i don’t have a garage!
Its a dangerous game. We’re looking to move house and can only look for one’s with garages now. Buying a house for the car
Yes we are considering exactly that! I put my name on a list to rent a garage over a year ago and was number 56…I am STILL number 56
‘On waiting list to rent a garage…still at number 56’
Empathy…been there…finally kicked off big time after Bullit soft top slashed in 2019
Got a garage…it leaked and had rotten doors
But now garage roof waterproof and eventually got brand new doors
Keep Fighting
It’s the only way
Fingers and toes all firmly crossed for a lottery win.
Hello! I don’t know anything about Oakworth but I too own a Euphonic in titanium grey!!
Mileage a bit higher than yours!
Hey there. Almost my cars identical twin yours looks a little lower and i love the darker wheels and clear indicators, makes it look well smart! What a beaut!
Cookie,
I cannot stress strongly enough that it is vital, in both my opinion and experience, to have your car anti rot injected and also the entire floor pan including all the wishbones, above the fuel tank, and special attention paid to the front chassis rails, plus the rear sills & arches . These cars dont die from mechanical issues…it’s the HIDDEN rot that kills.
Sorry to be a dark augur, but I’ve long and expensive experience in the matter. £600.00/£800.00 should do it…unless you are still as lithesome as a ballet dancer and fit as a chimp. Come sale day…if ever…it’s the first thing a clued up buyer will look for. Avoid Waxoil & Lanoguard stuff…its fine for garden tools and anti rot tech has moved on fantastically. These things will quietly rust inside out even if in a garage during winter…and trust me they are not alone by far…a good few others do the same that might surprise you. Do that, and you should be good for 20 years plus I’d wager with light servicing by “The Book”.
Thanks for the advice. I have thought about it to be honest. Anyone know anywhere West Yorkshire area who they’d recommend?
Looks like a lovely example and well worth preserving. Scottishfiver is absolutely right you should consider getting the car rust proofed as a priority.
Thank you!
Siblings! Not lowered. Euphonic is one of the best looking 2’s imho. Just echoing the advice from fellow members. It’s the hidden march of rusty time. Mine looks great but is going in soo. for new rails and some serious inner sill and arch repair. She giveth and taketh away!
Oh I thought she sat a little lower than mine, but must be my eyesight! Yeah, the Euphonics really do look smart don’t they!
I think I’d assumed because I never go out in the winter/rain/bad weather and keep her in a heated dry garage, that rust wouldn’t be a problem. I’m starting to think some preventative measures will be sensible however to preserve her for the longevity
If you’ve got such a good one then give it the treatment……it’s still a 20 year old car designed to trap moisture. I love my euphonic but (and we’re all different) I had to boost the power so she got a wee turbo fitted and its transformed it into a true sports car. Before she was a fab b-road tryer but now she really something very special. No suspension or brake changes…totally stock other than consumables renewed. It’s amazing how good this car is that you do such an upgrade. and it all just works. The other mod though that i would recommend is the speaker system. Even though that was the selling badge, they’ve not aged well. Def worth looking at 3maudio in the US for some plug and play upgrades. Enjoy putting some miles on your Euphonic!!!
Yeah, I think you’re right, certainly worth persevering her.
Ahh I would love to get a bit more power out of her, but I think its better to keep her standard. Always thought MX5s could handle more power and a bit of a more fruitier noise. Maybe I should buy another to tinker with
I’m glad you said that about the sound system. To say its a special edition based around the stereo, I find the sound quality average at best! Thought it was just me being an audiphile!
Thanks, hope you carry on enjoying yours! Jealous of the turbo!

Hi Peter,
Thats fantastic, although I cannot make todays run out, I’ll definitely look at attending future ones and introducing myself etc.
Cheers
Chris
Welcome to the group that looks like a particularly fine specimin you have there.
Hope you enjoy your Euphonic for many miles to come, not sure how you will keep the miles low, managed 60k in mine since 2018 and could quite easily find myself doing 20k a year now that she is rust free and sits on showroom condition suspension !
Thanks The comments in this forum has got me exploring rust protection for sure. I’ve always loved the idea of the Rocketeer V6 MX5 too!
Yeah, it is truly difficult keeping the miles low, but I guess I’m helped by the Yorkshire weather most of the year . When I’ve sorted the rust protection, I may be less precious about the weather though and can enjoy her more
Just been offered a garage by the council…at last!
