Are they taking it on test drives or just starting it in their car park?
Just wondered if it’s only going to happen after it gets jostled about enough - still, hopefully it will have been solved by all the connector pulling as you suggested.

They said its been driven, looked at, pulled apart, put back together etc etc.
Going to carry an OBD2 scanner in the car for a while, just in case.
Cheers
Beechwood want another day just in case, but otherwise, i’m collecting tomorrow lunchtime!
I have it back, all seems to have cleared up, no code for about 2.5 weeks
That said I have a fresh subscription to Greenflag and a semi-decent OBD2 reader which will now travel with me, until I trust it again!
Cheers for the help all, and a shout out to Beechwood for being decent! Didn’t try to lift my leg, tried to help as much as possible.
xoxo
You’ve got a whole forum full of MX5’ers here watching on, and crossing our fingers for you. Glad to hear the garage were good to you.
Quick update, car got home, no issues.
I also wanted to say what a visceral thrill it was to throw it round corners again, if there are any issues, I’ll be sure to shake them loose!

And it faulted again… after 15 miles.
Burrows, recognise their trucks, sad to see an MX-5 recovered, a rare sight.
Did it just die on you, refuse to start or runs but fault codes?
Car refused to start, fail safe kicks in, fault code P0615:12/13. Car will start if I clear the code. But Beechwood need the car with the code in order to fix it. Hence the recovery.
So do we take it then…
You picked the car up yesterday.
Drove it 15 miles home.
Then it sat overnight.
And it refused to start this morning?
Drove it 15 miles, home, co-op, leisure centre, then home.
Otherwise, yes, all correct.
I don’t think I’d be able to keep my sense of humour through all this
Hats off to you
Hope you get this fully resolved asap
@bally3 Cheers mate, I also hope this gets fixed, as I have BBR related plans for this beast.
Live, Laugh, Toaster Bath,
Alex
At least it sounds like it had the good grace to fail at home, Alex.
Silver linings
Update and Potential Fix:
Got the car back from Beechwood today and after quite a few hours on the car, we believe we have found a fix:
Passenger side drain hole above the bulkhead was blocked which caused water ingress into the door (hence the recent need for a replacement window regulator and motor)
That water however, made its way to a connecter associated with the SSU wiring loom, way up behind the passenger-side airbag connector.
That SSU connector was corroded and has been cleaned and greased!
Fault code has (so far) disappeared.
Cheers
@Roadster_Robbie Assuming this works, I should have just printed off the document you linked and given it to Beechwood!
Hindsight is 20/20
Cheers
Hats off to the tech who found that. That’ll be a story he tells for the rest of his life.
Fingers crossed. for you
Driven about 100 miles since getting it back, put it through a car wash/pressure washer. So far so good!
