If your MX-5 is a 2nd car -what’s your first ?

I have a discovery5 for work but came home in a mx5 today as the sun was shining

And maybe a difficult choice, which one?

I am deeply offended by this thread. Of course MiXi is my first car.

I even have the tee shirt that says “Driving my MX5 is more importanter.”

Being retired my VW Polo 1.2 Tsi SEL suits my daily needs perfectLy. The 1.2 with its turbo engine and 6 speed gearbox is great for longer trips. The SEL spec provides all the kit I need. Solidly built too. The mx-5 1.5 ND sport nav+ in Soul Red provides the fun factor in bucket loads, having had a love of small sports cars all my life. A good combination I reckon…

I have a Audi Q3 Quattro Automatic which I totally love.

Also have a 1973 Honda CL350 which I have just rebuilt.

Only got my MX5 Kuro last week, love it.

MX5 2.5 Icon is my first car!!
Focus Sport is the work horse.

Freelander SD4 HSE as the workhorse.
Mazda CX3 2 litre petrol auto.

2 other MX-5s.

Plus - for sensibleness - a SEAT Exeo ST 2.0 (Audi A4 Avant in a flamenco dress).

I didn’t realise how many of you have fleets of luxury vehiclesSmile

Aside from MX5 MK1 1.6 detuned and 1991 Eunos I also have an aged(owned 20 years) 1.9 basic Golf diesel,  the workhorse and a 1992 Honda XL250 degree.

Much as I love the old workhorse it can’t go on forever so planning to follow safetymatches example and buy a Suzuki Jimny when I finally have to give up on the old Golf. Have been planning for the inevitable demise of the Golf for around 10 years now - I will never give up on stuff that does not give up on me. This adage works far better for me with machines and animals than people, regrettably.

If I didn’t have a 5, probably wouldn’t have a car at all. Mrs B has the household car, AUDI A4 AVANT 2.0 tdI, brilliant cars. We’ve always had an estate in one form or another from an ex BT 1.3L escort estate, 1.8SRi Vectra estate, a couple of A4 estates, VOLVO 960 estate etc etc. Just like the practicality of them. Always alongside a 5 and company cars/vans in one form or another

Shockingly I am a VW man.

I have just today part exchanged my Golf R for a new T Roc R Line.
