Kuro edition Bose speaker replacement

1. My model of MX-5 is: 2013 Kuro edition
2. I’m based near: Ipswich
3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: a blown Bose speaker in my passenger door.

The speaker in my passenger door has blown, it is a Bose system, and so I gather I can just put any speaker in there because it’s Bose. The dealer wants £255 for a new speaker, does anyone know of an alternative I can use or have one available for sale?

A breakers or ebay would be my first suggestion.

Then getting any given freindly mechanic to spend 20 minutes swapping them over

Anyone successfully replaced BOSE door speakers in 3.5 or newer NC?

Has anybody simply replaced the BOSE door speakers only (not a bosectomy) in an MK3.5 or newer NC, if so what did you use? I gather the NC1 can use the focals but can the 3.5? also the Clearwaters seem to be only 2005-9 Cheers

Your only option for a speaker replacement is to find another BOSE one. Due to how the amp is set up and speaker design, on 3.5s, it’s basically impossible to find a speaker replacement, like you can with the nC1 or non-BOSE. I’ve looked into this thoroughly because I also have one.

Your other option is to do a full Bosectomy.
