MK-3 Luggage rack

I have Mk 3 2007 soft top in excellent condition but would really like more luggage space.
We do use it for holidays and have difficulty getting everything we would like to take in the boot particularly when away for up to 4 weeks. Can anyone recommend a make that I can use when required but doesn’t require any drilling is secure and wont damage my paint work.
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at a previous thread I put in:

https://forum.mx5oc.co.uk/t/fitting-a-centre-brake-light-to-luggage-rack-on-prht/108778

I have used a NB boot luggage rack and fits perfectly and attaches itself via four allen keys that tighten rubberised clamps to the underside of the bootlid.

However, if you have the hard top, make sure you place the first clamp away from the rear of the bootlid 175mm away, otherwise you PRHT will clash with the rack.

Hope thas useful

Forgot to mention, the following thread would also be of interest:

But in summary:

Its s 2.0 Sport Venture PRHT manual. However, I have also found the following thread:

https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=459565

*OEMs report curb weight with all fluids inclusive of full fuel tank. So no need to add fuel weight to the ~2590lb figure for a fully optioned PRHT… that’s the max, and gets lighter as you run the tank down. *
Like wooo, I also weighed my PRHT GT at a weigh scale last year and the scale weight jives with “just under 2600lb” for the car with full fuel tank.

So with this in mind, the kerb weight of the car is 1175kg (inc full fuel) and the max weight is 1375kg which leaves 200kg for occupants and luggage

We’ve had a boot bag for years, 4 weeks in the Pyrenees no problem!
They usually advertise in the magazine. If not, come back to me and I’ll find their contact details for you.

A very good morning.
I know you have specifically asked about Luggage racks.
But, as others have said and just a suggestion the “Boot Bag” does give you that extra space without keep putting on and off a rack (if that was what you want to do, also the expense).
It’s quite straight forward really.
A bit “Fiddly” zipping it all up properly etc, but once you get the hang of it its okay.
Causes no damage or scratches, (I would have thrown it in the bin by now if it did).
I got mine second hand (used once) off ebay.
Used it couple of weekends ago to do a spot of social distancing camping, (bit of a laugh really).
Mine is a PRHT and for information of those users you can leave it on and open and close the roof, just!
Made a 3rd brake light to fit too.
A matter for your good self. :+1:

Thanks for that information I will investigate the bag really appreciate your advice
