My Eunos roadster failed its MOT today - nearside and offside steering rack gaiters need replacing and advised offside and nearside upper and lower front ball joint dust covers deteriorated.
Can you please advise me what a garage is likely to charge?
Sorry I can’t help out with garage costs but what I can say is that I did the same on my Mk2 recently. The parts are readily available, I got mine off ebay for about £20 all in and for someone with a bit of know how and the tools it’s a straight forward job.
You will need to get the front wheel alignment checked/reset after.
I’d probably say you are looking at 3 to 4 hours labour at a garage and obviously parts would be more.
I had gaiters changed after MOT fail in 2019. About £15 for parts and £130 labour (south Essex, non-dealer rates). I did the tie rod ends myself a year later. These are about £10 each. I would not expect any extra labour costs to fit theses at the same time as the gaiters - they have to come off anyway.
Thanks guys - I was thinking about £200 labour so that seems about right to me.
