Music and Song - What are you listening to right now?

Following the sad news of Dusty Hills passing, bassist with ZZ Top. I have just been listing to Eliminator with some classic tracks like Sharp Dressed Man, Legs and Gimmie All Your Lovin.

RIP Dusty.

I wasn’t aware of that. Great bassist in one of my favourite bands. So glad I got to see them at Wembley in 2019. May he rest in peace and thankyou for 52 years of great music

I never managed to see them live however, they will always evoke great memories for me. I was staying over at the student nurses home (yes back in the day student nurses had their own live in accommodation) with the lady, who has now been my wife for than 34 years, and we spent a great evening watching ZZ Top on the TV in the lounge.

I was just about to put up a similar post as yours… Literally just blew the dust of my CD of Eliminator and enjoyed it once again - Great stuff and R.I.P Dusty Hill…

Wembley Arena was the only British date on that year’s world tour. Me and the current Mrs B.took the NB up to London and had a night in a hotel right by the Stadium.
Avoided the M4 for most of the journey home and had a nice stroll around Henley On Thames

Such a shame about Dust Hill, so in tribute to him I have been catching up on some of their earlier stuff which in all honesty I prefer as it was before they found their Eliminator sound, which I suggest ZZ Top fans should check out.

Started with this one.

You can’t go wrong with a bit of Stevie, Texas flood has got to be one of my favourite albums. You might want to check out Family Style by Stevie and his brother Jimmie who was in the Fabulous Thunderbirds, it was produced by Nile Rodgers so is a bit different.

After being at my current address for just over 3 years, thought it time I sorted my CD’s into some sort of alphabetical order… This had got quite dusty so is getting a spin now…!
