George stepped in after the original financiers got cold feet over the adverse publicity about some councils banning the showing on the grounds of blasphemy (even though they hadn’t actually seen the film).
George said that Monty Python had helped him through a period of depression & wanted to repay them.

German brass Oompah band covers don’t work. Becomes predictable.
Mayme posted before, James busking in Greece. Old video, so no 4k, HD. For context, this was just around the time of the banking crisis, and the Greek economy was imploding. So a nice feel good song was an antidote.
And later on at their free concert, this song, which got overlooked by the events of 911 (the original, now deleted, music video was creepily prescient), was very apt for the time. Tim gets a bit down thinking the world is ending. One audience member really understands Tim’s trademark physical jerks. And its not the Pogo’ing lady.
