I’m on my 9th now. 5 have been silver as it’s my favourite colour for any car, but particularly for MX5s. But I’ve just been lucky enough to find a low mileage 10AE and the Innocent Blue is growing on me. I apologise for the roof being on. As soon as Paul, my mechanic, has finished his side of the improvements, the hard top will go in the shed never to be used again, except when the car goes for the paint work to be done, as the hardtop has a couple of chips.
My favourite Mk2. Don’t see any of the presentation packs these days.
Many polished / lacquered alloy sets destroyed over the years by folks thinking they are chrome.
Car soap & water then wax.
Wax on, wax off…wax on…
Thanks for the info. I think I’ll get away with just putting some black beading where the first owner has kerbed all the wheels. I have the model car and am looking for the watches. I love the shiny little wheels. It’s long been my favourite MX5, not just my favourite Mk2. It’s just “right” somehow. The hard top comes off as soon as the stand for it arrives, of course. The soft top seems never to have been used. The car needs some TLC but only has 33,000 miles and two owners, the first being a titled Lady for the first 19 years.
I had a 1.8 Laguna Blue NA in the late 90’s, which looked exactly like that one. This was when they were a current model but I bought it a couple of years old - it was an M reg. Loved that car!!
SWMBO was given the gold lapel badge at our local Main Dealer years back for some odd reason when she bought her 2002 Sport in 2006
Won’t sell it. Useless but it’s hers.
£15.00 to £30.00 online if people are daft enough!
It’s an open top SPORTS car, right?. So it has to be bright red yeh.? Not unlike my True Red NC, so obviously I’m not at all biased am I?
You wot?
when the Merlot came out it was the one I always promised myself. Thought the interior pipped in purple was so trendy at the time.
If I keep my BRG NA for a few more years I’d definitely consider getting the inevitable respray done in Excellent Green Mica. The fact it is still the same colour as the log book indicates and still an original colour would stop me feeling too guilty about it not being as it left the factory.
My car has the same wheels as the VR Limited too so would look like the real deal!
My favourite colour on the more modern models has to be soul red though.
Another for black. Love that polished mirror look. However, mine certainly isn’t displaying that polished mirror look just at the moment…!
Love the alloys!
Why, thank you. I think they’re an awesome factory addition. The condition isn’t brilliant as the finish is peeling/corroding, but maybe one day I’ll fork out for a refurb.
They are very much awesome- brilliant retro look!
Trust me…you don’t wanna lose a centre cap off one of these babies. No Siree Bob. ££££££
Holy moly, 55 bucks for one! Could do with a lock-in centre cap key!
Best put a blob of silicon sealant on the twist lugs tbh. Every little helps.
They can work loose on sustained rough long trip roads. At least, a couple of mine did but that was in the days of yore you could still, with a bit of effort, find them on Fleabay. Mine were used and a bit ill fitting to begin with mind. Yours might be nice and tight.
Don’t ask me how I know.
BBS refurb? Pretty complex process I was informed… because they are. Budget circa £80.00/£90.00 per corner.
Probably still worth it due to extreme rarity. It’s why I flogged mine…which I now regret.
