- My model of MX-5 is: NB Mk2
- I’m based near: Manchester
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Suspension Damper Upgrade.
- Three years ago I rebuilt all 4 corners of my 1999 NB with new upper & Lower wishbones running OEM Bushes, new springs and new dampers. I then hsd the car all wheel aligned.
- Would I see any benefit from fitting upgraded dampers such as Meister Rs?
- Thoughts Please.
- Thanks Regards Nic
Depends on how many miles you have put on in 3 years. But probably, you won’t see that much of a benefit.
I had my 22 year old NBFL suspension similarly refreshed with all OEM parts over the winter and after half a dozen sprints a hillclimb and half a dozen laps of the Nurburgring plus 7 or 8k on the road I am wondering about upgrades to the drivers seat to get it lower without compromising 1000 mile a day comfort so that I can consider fitting a roll bar necessary to run a modified car in competion , then upgrades to the suspension, brakes and engine.
Regarding the suspension you might find post 3 on this link interesting, Meister R’s seem to come out well in the eyes of some one who knows and has exprience of using a whole range of shocks ;- Who is running Meister R coilovers?
Thanks Art Ill take a look.
Regards
Nic
