NC2.5 UK right hand drive airbag error 4-2 error light

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 2009 NC2.5 UK 2.0
  2. I’m based near: London
  3. I’m looking for Technical help or recommendations on: airbag error codes…

I have a 2009 Sportech Roadster that has started to blink 4 slow and 2 fast airbag error lights on the dash.

Does anyone know what part of the airbag system this points to please?

I have done the easy stuff like battery out for 10 mins, and checking all the wiring under the seats and also checked for error code number on a scanner (none shown) - but have not managed to clear the fault.

Before I take it to a main dealer for some open wallet surgery I wonder if anyone here knows the answer.

Thanks.

Richard.

Can’t answer your question mate but maybe just maybe water ingress passenger footwell, via skuttle grommets , dripping onto fuse box ?

Thanks for the tip, been there, got the t-shirt, had the leak a few years ago and sorted it, but thanks anyway.

You might want to cast an eye over this topic…

If the codes are the same across the Mazda range then code 42 would be the front primary crash sensor.

Here’s the sequence codes which I uploaded to one of my spare websites a while back.

Perfect, solution seems obvious. Thank you!

Will get a mechanic to clear the codes, if I still have a problem then a £20 recon crash sensor at the front (after the nose has been removed) should fix it!

Cheers!

Robbie, I have had an mechanic put the computer on the car to see what the error code is and found the following errors, does this look like a new front crash sensor is needed to you?
B104D - Front Crash Sensor Cross Link to Another Sensor, and
B2856 - Airbag ECU Version Conflict with Front Crash Sensor Mount.
No other codes.
Any info before I pull the front of the car off would be appreciated.
Thanks.
