NC3.5 DRL recommendations please

Hi Guys

Looking through the forums on changing to DRLs I am well confused about what is what. Can someone point me to a link or post to help.

I have fog lights which maybe could be used as drls?

Have a look at the CarbonMiata ones, at £115. Will fit Nc 3 and 3.5 without any modifications.

You say you have fog lights already for the ones I mentioned in the post and referred to Richard’s post will fit your car , not sure about others

Thanks for the info on these vinstar units. Do the light units replace directly with the oem fog lights without and crafting of the unit holding assembly. Presumably the control boxes sit in the engine bag somewhere or is there a better place to put them?

Hi Ian. For an model 3.5, those vinstar units will probably need a little bit of fettling. They’re designed to be a straight fit for the 2.0 model. But it only needs a bit of the existing plastic surround on your fog lights cutting away.

In use, I love the Vinstar DRLs. I’ve had them fitted to my 3.5 for about 18 months now, and they certainly make my car more “visible” to other road users.

Great thanks for the reply.
So if I understand them correctly driving normally drl are on, switch on headlights, drls stay on ? Then switch on fog lights, drl goes out.

Where did you mount the controller boxes, presumably somewhere dry in the engine compartment?
