New NC 06' owner. - Steering, suspension and handling questions?

I have had in the past (last car) Ferodo discs+pads which I found excellent for the fronts. I got just a set of Pagid pads for the rear from Euro car parts, discs were fine.
More recently (current car) I’ve fitted Brembo (pads only) on the front and rear, much better than what was on, unknown brand.
The Mazda OEM pads were good, less dust from them too but come in quite expensive from say mx5parts.
To note…my Brembo purchased pads above didn’t come with backing plates, I reused the old ones. I guess Euro car parts supplied it’s a price thing, to compete and their wow! 40% off use this code month, weekend, whatever.

A set of Brembo discs+pads purchased for the rears on my daily driver (eBay purchase) did come with a full fitting kit, backing plates, grub screws for the discs and even new bolts for caliper pins.

You are on 16 inch wheel so dunno. I use Michelin ps5 but i don’t really know whether it comes on s 16 inch wheel. People rate Kumhos well just search the forum and see what comes up.

For info, surprisingly Halfords are sometimes cheaper for Pagid pads than Europarts despite their apparent big discount weeks

The order for the Brembro rear brake discs and pads arrived today.

After reading this, am I missing backing plates for the Brembro pads to fit the existing calipers? Is that something that needs to be ordered?

ID-Workz are apparently out of stock on the coilovers which I ordered. :joy:

The brembo pads i usually buy do not have the backing plate. Although i am now using dedicated track pads the brembo easily take at least two trackday abuse plus whatever road use i do so i wouldn’t worry about it.

Use the old one’s just give them a clean up.

They may not fit if they have any features in them to mate with the pads. Honestly i wouldn’t worry about it

The sportives are not showing as no stock on their website and I’ve just this moment ordered a set of CRDs. My acknowledgement shows expected delivery 7th-9th August.
At what point did they tell you they were out of stock?

This morning via text. Said they expect stock end of August and asked if I wanted to cancel my order.

Admittedly I’m saving about £50 buying from them so I said I’ll just keep my order and be patient and wait.

Let us know if you get the cdr’s delivered though. Also, not sure if you have already, but if you sign up the their mailing list you get a discount code for your order.

I’ll let you know when/if they turn up.
Yep, I got the discounts. I’d been considering the coilover upgrade for a while but it was your post about the discount and another post mentioning an MX-5 specialist near Gloucester (Performance Link) that made me pull the trigger.

Yeah it was a bummer to get the text this morning and I hope it’s not the same case with your CDR’s.

On the flip side at least once stock has been replenished it’s guaranteed to get a set I hope as you can’t preorder on MeisterR’s website.

Depending on how much demand there is compared with stock. You just don’t know if people will be queuing up to get a set and they might be gone in no time?

Did your order acknowledgement give an expected delivery date?

Yeah. :disappointed:

Thank you for your purchase!
We’re getting your order ready to be shipped. We will notify you when it has been sent.

Estimated delivery Friday, Aug 4–Tuesday, Aug 8

Ah, that looks familiar.
I’ll let you know if I get the ‘revised’ delivery date.
Performance Link (who’ll be fitting them) did say that they were expecting stock of CRDs at end of August too.

I think most places are out of stock and awaiting deliveries.
I got mine from Autolinkuk , they came with a 7.5% OC discount. That’s about £55 at their currently listed price. It also comes off the unit price before VAT is applied.
Edit: It’s going to be more that that, I was looking at the Mk1 & Mk2 items.

Your membership price and some beer tokens. Might be worth a call.

Just had the text message - Stock expected mid to late August
Looks like there’s a slow boat on its way from China :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Max.
No stock there either but I’ll stick with ID-Workz as I have an order in the system now whereas I’d be in the rush for the new stock if I went Autolink.

That’s a bummer man… :disappointed:

In some ways I’m annoyed that ID-Workz website said in-stock. but at the same time I’m not, because at least there was a discount, and also hopefully being pre-order, were both guaranteed a set. :+1:

Being a UK company, I was kinda hoping they would be made in the UK as well tbh. :uk:

Has anyone tried Moss-Europe for MeisterR’s and actually placed an order? I’ve just tried online to order the MeisterR’s, got as far as payment details etc… At no point did it say they were out of stock, didn’t say they were in stock either.
Similar prices to all others, no discount code though.
