After selling my Fury earlier in the week, it freed me up to really look at purchasing an MX-5 ND that I have been looking forward to. Luckily it hasnt taken long and one in the Spec, colour and condition I was after came up at just the right time.
I went on viewed and Friday and have taken the plunge, collecting next week. Really excited and will allow me to get far more driving done than I ever managed in my Fury.
Will be looking to upgrade the infotainment system to accept Android Auto so any advice over what is in the forum posts would be appreciated. Also any other recommendations will be greatly received.
I picked it up from a Jaguar cars sales garage in Hull, 90 mile drive from Derby, it certainly was the best I have seen since searching for one, as many many had issues.
Full service Mazda history x1 owner from new, (he worked at Mazda too) so not bad history with it.
Haha, Yep from PVC. 2 Owners, 12,000 and full dealer history and looks to be in great condition. My only concern is that roof has rubbed slightly on the rear seat hoop which by the look of it is a common issue, but doesnt look to have damaged the actual roof. Have already purchased the wedges to push the hood away slightly when down. I may have to try and polish the hoop plastic to remove the rub mark. Other than that it looked immaculate.
Yep,not afraid of doing the DIY job. Watched a couple of videos and it seems fairly straight forward, fingers crossed. I see you can get the USB C and wireless version now.
Around £28 delivered for my android auto/carplay module. It was advertised as wireless but it isn’t, maybe the carplay side of it was??
I’ve got an android phone so plugging in isn’t a problem for android auto, it charges the phone too whilst plugged in.
Beware if you have a Motorola phone on android 15 though, I’ve tried 3 phones now (mine, my wife’s and sons) Motorola’s and they won’t pick up android auto in the ND’s new module. It is definitely that particular phone not the module, my Motorola Android 13 phone works seemlessly with the module.
It’s an easy job to fit,you just have to remove a chunk of the dash for access to the screen and module, it’s mainly clipped in and a few screws.
This links to an ebay page that is owned by a member of this site that sells the wedges used to facilitate the hood being pushed back away from the seat hoops and rubbing.
