Hi, First-time MX5 owner here. I’ve been looking at them for ages, and after some research, I ended up, wanting the NC Mk3.75, even though it seems to be the most unloved version of the MX5. I don’t need it as a daily driver and I fancied something for the odd track day and some fun around the twisty private roads.
I got myself a MK3.75 NC 2013 2.0i Roadster Sport Tech Manual gearbox. It has 75,000 miles on the clock and I am the second recorded owner. After picking it up on Monday I’ve only managed 150 miles so far, but it’s enough to know the car has the potential to be the fun factor for my occasional use needs.
Whilst I am not sure of the official colour name, it is a grey/blue metallic colour.
I’ve already decided that the in-car entertainment is rubbish! It’s some strange Mazda Tom Tom double din unit that doesn’t even have Bluetooth phone connectivity as far as I can tell! So a Pioneer dab+, carplay unit is officially the first mod as I went and got that this morning, hopefully get around to fitting it tomorrow morning.
I’ve been online parts shopping today after having a good read of the forums and Facebook groups, so now all I need to do is wait for the boxes of bits to arrive.
So Hello from Just outside Glasgow, looking forward to meeting up, going for a run, and doing some track days. As it’s been 20+ years since I did any track days, I’m not getting my hopes up to be any good!
Cheers and yes it is!
Coilovers, ARB and Sway bar, adjustable drop links.
Front and rear disks and pads
Braided lines
BBR 200 kit, with sports cat/manifold.
I’m up near Stirling and currently have an ND1 Z-Sport, albeit over the years I’ve had an NA 1.6 Eunos Roadster in red and a 1.6 NB2 Phoenix in black.
They’re great cars, whichever one you have. I’ve never owned or driven an NC but I’m sure it’ll serve you well and the fun factor is guaranteed. Yours looks a great car, have fun!
Good looking car mate , it’s weird how the mk 3 gets grief but that’s mostly from people who haven’t had one so I wouldn’t worry there it’s a great wee car , highly modifiable and bags of fun , plus the roads in Scotland are great so you will get the most out of it down the Twisties , enjoy .
