North Thames Southend Run - Sunday 27th June, 2010

Back by popular demand, a re-run of last year’s event.
The starting point is The Hawk public house at Battlesbridge.  If you fancy lunch at the pub then arrive any time after 11.30. We will be departing at 1.30 pm for a 90 minute drive round the lanes of Hullbridge, Canewdon, Rochford, Barling & Shoebury.  There will be a stop at Uncle Tom’s Cabin at Shoebury for tea, ice cream and a walk along the seafront  (weather permitting). We then drive through Southend to end up at the Tea Rooms at Hadleigh Farm where you can also visit Hadleigh Castle and get some spectacular views across the Thames Estuary.

A copy of the route is available here.

So we can get an idea of numbers please click here to e-mail me if you are coming along, or post below.

Damn, I would’ve loved this, but I’m already going to Brands for Modified Live.

I will be going to the Rochford Classic Car show that day but if that falls through count me in!

I may possibly even break away from the show and join you en route.

Sorry to say it clashes with an invasion of friends coming to stay.

Nice friends but would rather be hood down on the run.

I hope your nice friends don’t see this post.Smile

Very unlikely 2 are flying in from OZ and 2 driving down from up North.

Just got in from London by night though, Tower Bridge Canary Wharf, Limehouse Link then missed the turn to Tilbury A13 but finally found it.

All good fun

 Will be coming along to this if its on?  Weekend weather is looking good{#emotions_dlg.cool}

However; England v Germany is at 3pm…

As per Brian really, I may tag along later but I’ll be going along to the Rochford Classic car show first, it’s also the European Grand Prix and  England are playing Germany in the world cup!!

Yes, big match on Sunday. Will that affect anybody’s interest in attending???

 Not me

Nor Me x

If I watch the match on Sunday we will definitely be out of the World Cup, so I’m still going on the run.  As are…

Paul & Marilyn
Jayne
John & Frances
Mark
Dave & Pam
Don & Cindy
Mike and Sue
Chris

…unless they change their mind.Wink

We can always watch the ‘highlights’ (if there are any) later.

Great news{#emotions_dlg.thumb}.  I was getting worried that it might be cancelled.  See you at The Hawk by 1pm, earlier if we decide to have lunch there.

I’ll be listening on the radio and watching the highlights too…

Sorry I seem to have missed this, count myself and Dee in.

Consider yourselves added.

I was in The Hawk tonight.  They had a sign up about booking for lunch on Sunday.  Pam & I have decided to have lunch there before we leave, so we booked a table.  When I spoke to the manager, he said that they expected to be quieter on Sunday because of the football and I mentioned that a car club was meeting there from 11:30 and that some may be eating there too.  He said that he would be happy to have anyone who wanted to, to eat there and has set aside a table for up to 10 people, ( I daresay that they would accomodate more) that we can use from 12 o/clock.  I did say that I dont know how many,  if any, would be eating but the option is there now if anyone wants it.  Its booked under the name Hillier.  If you want to call The Hawk, its 01268 767263.

Hope that helps.

How often do runs around this part of Essex take place?
Thanks

We do have some local runs from time to time, and also some further a field, keep your eye out on the forum or check planed events.

You could always come along to the monthly meet this Wednesday at about 8.00. at The Eagle Kelvadon Hatch.

Hi Bl0at3r.

Our runs are listed on the Forum here - http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/t/13462.aspx and as the details for each one are finalised a new thread is started. They are also put on our web site at http://www.nt-mx5oc.co.uk/.  We are always open to suggestions for ‘added starters’.

We have an e-mail distribution list too.  If you would like to be added please PM me your email address or use the e-mail link on the web site.

As Les says, the Club meets on the last Wednesday of the month at The Eagle, Brentwood.  Full details are also on the web site.
