Hey,
Yeah did make it over briefly but looked like the meeting was already in full swing as you were all inside i think as saw huge group through window when driving into carpark! Had a look around the two MK1’s i saw quickly but was in mates car that was having running issues so didnt want to make him stay too long so couldn’t come in and say hi. Soooooo many MK3 owners i noticed! Will try make it to one in future when i have a 5. It’s cool for me as can go between this meet and hemel ones as both so close! O nice MK1 whoever has the fancy painted green one!
O on a side note, how evil are those “speed bumps” on the way into the carpark!?
That’s a limited edition Le Mans! You need to be a poser to drive one of those!
Shame you didn’t come in and introduce yourself, but there was rather a lot of us to be honest… but we don’t bite! (not normally anyway) and you could have had a piece of birthday cake! [:D]
Hehe dam if i had known there was cake!!! But yeah were in my mates cruddy 106 which needs bump starting and overheats atm so couldnt stay long [:P] I’ll try atleast be in a proper japanese car next time! But yeah you all sound real friendly but guess i bit of a wuss but bit odd walking into a room full of people mid meeting. My fault for not getting there on time i guess but again fiddling with the 106.
Yeah you missed a good evening Woody!
Wondered if there was anymore news on the meeting time for poohsticks on Sunday…

Not yet Quin…I’ll let you know [:)]
Should have received your mailing list email tonight… [:D]
if not meeting point is Culham Lock CarPark at 10:00am check our area website if you require maps (see Events Page)
So many MK3’s… LOL
yes… but most of the owners have also had Mk.1’s [;)]
Yes, was left behind. Contact Jenny and Dave (area coordinators) think they picked it up and still have it ?
Quin, see you at Culham lock at 10 on sunday…and how about calling your copper 5 ‘Fergie’ after that famous redhead the Duchess of York!!!
Thanks Alan, yes had an email from Dave, he has my scarf so I shall get it from them on Sunday!
Also, thanks for the times for Culham Locks - see you there… I also wondered if there was a plan to do a bit of a drive and get lunch somewhere or was everyone going there own ways once we became the pooh stick champions???
As for “Fergie” I’d not thought of that… good idea… Was starting to think I’d have to call it “Yuri” to match the “YRE” … [:D]
Not sure what is happening for lunch to be quite honest Quin, but I am sure we can find a pub somewhere [;)]
DONT FORGET THE CLOCKS GO FORWARD 1 HOUR TONIGHT!
Quin, try this link for information of the photo shoot… http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/t/1178.aspx
Thanks Carol, we have had a good read of it and are looking forward to it, even if we can’t take part in the photoshoot…
Todays run was great and pooh sticks was fun, following lunch we took a drive up to the White horse and a walk to the top which was very energetic, and worked off those fattening desserts!!
Hope you had a good run home, see you next Sunday!

hye well me and are kinda newbies we were part of the south east area even though we live in bucks i just drove to the blacksmith arms because your website said there was a meeting and there wasnt one mx5 to be sure i went inside with my mx5 jacket and got dumb looks from every one side so left waited for a while then drove off so it might be maybe to this meet thanks john and linda
Hi John and Linda, welcome to the Oxford OC. i am sorry no-one was there last night, I can only assume it was cancelled because Jenny & Dave, our area co-ordinators are on holiday.
Handy Cross is a bit too far for us to come so we come to the Bicester meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month (15th this month). I dont think Jenny & Dave are back by then but you are more than welcome to join us…D.J and I will be there!
Thanks for the replie just wish there something on the web that said it was cancelled bicester about 40 min depending what my mx5 feels like i will come and try and make this one thanks again
john and linda
Sorry you never met up with the others on your first meeting. I am pretty sure the meeting was NOT cancelled. Probably those who attended took their ‘other’ cars because it was such a wet night.
I had intended to be there (in my other car!!!) but unfortunately I flew back from Berlin and the plane was slightly later than it should have been, plus driving home through the rain was slow, so I did not get home in time to go to the pub meeting.
For future information we actually meet on the upper level of the restaurant, and I will ask our webmaster to add this info to the website so that future newbies know where we are!!!
Hope to see you at the Bicester meeting.
hye i asked the fella who lets the mx5 club use the room upstairs he said no one was there i had a mx5 jacket on which kinda gave it away but i will try and make the one on the thursday thanks
Gosh, no one turned up? that must be a first! I have to say if I HAD turned up having flown all the way from Berlin and no one was there I would have been a wee bit cross!!! [:(]
