I wanted BL04 FUN but it’s gone now; besides my wife put 'er big foot down on that one. I could have had an MX54 but we went for SE04 TBO. Aussie plates are so cheap; my old one was 13 PSI and cost me roughly 100 quid at the time!!!
Best one I have seen is around the newcastle area it is MX5 2 OLD

My favourite number is 74 & either the DVLA don’t sell plates with 74 on or I’m going to have to wait until the mid-2020s so I’ll give it a miss. KH74 MXS? K74 MXS? MXS 74K Hmmm…
The only personal plate I’ve ever liked the idea of was H4NDY which I saw on sale about 15-20 years ago for £1000.
Otherwise I’m not so keen.
I once saw a Porsche Boxster with the plate AB03TER which I guess was supposed to read ABOXSTER. I however immediately read it as ABORTER and had to think about what it was supposed to mean (no ‘X’ you see!). I occasionally wonder if the owner knew how other people saw their plate…
My wife told me to tell the Insurers of her plate change on her 51 Mk 2-5, I didn’t know she had brought one, it is now MX51 WOW. The girl down the at office said “that’s a nice present” it was Valentines Day. As for myself I dithered on getting H15 MXV, and went back to the site and it gone. But I am happy with mine’ unless I win the Lottery.

Apologies for dragging up an old thread, but having had my interest in MX-5s reignited recently, I was catching up on old threads, and noticed this one. I’ve still got a plate that I bought on the first day it was issued (back in 2007 I think?).
Very long term plan this, as I waited about 4 years for the plate to come available, and will now have to wait until I can afford a car new enough for it to go on to! Hopefully, one day, I’ll get a 57 plate MK3 once they become cheap enough!
