Replacement NC washer jets

Just some for info for NC owners really.

After much searching and many eBay/Amazon returns I have finally found an alternative windscreen washer jet to replace the standard feeble dribbling ones fitted to my NC.

They are from Amazon and cost £7:99 for a pair. They are pretty much the same size and design but with a decent spray pattern and fit snuggly into the hole.

Time will tell how good they really are but at least I can now clean my screen!

I fitted ford ones to mine, they are a bit smaller though

Are those the the ones that spray an atomised mist over the screen, rather than distinct narrow jets, and if so,do you have a part number?

Nice one.
How easy was it to take the old ones out and insert the new?
D

Mine have been in and out so much now that I can get them out using a thin bladed flat screwdriver from the top and release the clips underneath just gently lifting the jet out.
There’s just enough flex in the washer pipe to pull a bit through, hold the pipe whilst pulling off the jet, do not let go off the pipe or it will drop through the cowling. Push the new jet onto the pipe and refit.

I think the correct method is to remove the plastic cowel and get access from below the jets to squeeze the clips and release.

The new ones I bought from Amazon fitted perfectly into the hole, nice a snug but can still be removed again if required.

Ordered today , thanks for sharing info

One of mine isn’t working. Do they tend to block up easily on these then?

I had a problem with one of mine, it turned out the pipe was blocked. They clog up over time, black sludge came out.

thank you i will order them

Ordered yesterday, fitted today. Thanks Amazon.

Any pics of them fitted? I know they’re only washer jets but if they’re non oem I’d like to have a look :+1:

Please can you confirm, as previously asked, if they atomise the water? Or is it just a single jet stream?

Thanks.

Have a look at the pics on Amazon suggests they atomise…

They spray in more of a fan pattern than single jets.
I have a pic of the jet fitted and spraying, bear in mind I need to adjust the jet still!

fix the spray pattern and get back to us… our lives depend on this

Not too much pressure then :grimacing:

Thanks for posting pics. My NC washer jets used to block up regularly and were a pain to clean out. In the end I rammed a large needle into each jet and they cleared, but there’s no longer a spray pattern, just a single stream. It still cleans the windscreen though, so all good.

I went through a quick few checks before I plumped for replacement. In the end there was no obvious blockage so I blocked the driver side with a rag and all the pressure being forced to the other cleared the passenger side one. Back to working well.

Before anyone else wastes their money, don’t bother.
I bought these and they are useless. Not designed for an 5, so when the jets are seated on the cowl, they will not point more than 2” up from the bottom of the screen.
