Hello, a new member of a comunity here!

I wanted to ask for advice regarding four issues:

  • general servicing: I got a car from a guy who did servicing himself and just want to double check that everything OK
  • someone with transmission expertise
  • someone that can fix light body damage
  • someone to install some minor mods like lowering seat, replacing cooling tank

Regarding transmission, I just got my first MX-5 (and first manual car as well) and I noticed that putting it into 1st gear can be tricky (feels like it wants to go slightly to the left of the first gear where’s barierr from getting into reverse. It might be a skill issue, but I’d like specialist to take a look at it.

As for light body damage, I have a tiny dent on the boot lid and I was wondering if there’s someone that can can help me un-dent (?) it. One of the licence plate lights broke one of the legs and now I need to hold it while closing the lid (while I’m waiting for parts).

I can’t help with a garage recommendation I’m afraid and I’m not sure how handy you are, but your gear selection issue maybe cause by a worn reverse lockout plate. See the link below, ultimately though, not a big issue.
