Hi PJ

I am arranging to come to this.  As we will use my Daughter’s Guest passes have contacted Neil for stand pass for car

GerryP

Anyone managed to buy any tickets at the advertised prices - or at all - yet please?

Phoned but told last week they weren’t ready - try again 18/3. Nothing yesterday. Tried calling today - directed to online ticket site. Not all tickets are available and prices do not match those advertised. (Saturday only, bought before April 30th advertised as £30. On their ticket site - £35. Maybe a discount is applied on purchase but not keen to be thr Guinea Pig and find it’s not. Equally, want to buy all tickets for our group at one go as there are additional booking and carriage charges to add!)  3 day passes advertised at £70 - no price mentioned but not available yet anyway.)

Hi All

You will find that I have updated the information at the start of the thread.

Please note that the prices quoted on the SC website are the public prices, the club prices are published on the OC Forum, website and STHT.

If you are concerned about using the online booking service I would phone the SC Booking Office direct, there number has also been updated at the start of the thread.

Also, discounted concert tickets can only be purchased with the booking office directly.

PJ

Hi folks, this is just for info - I’ve successfully phone-booked my tickets this morning. I wanted a ticket for Sat and Sun (but not Fri) and the website didn’t seem to allow this very easily so I decided to phone. However, the guy on the other end of the phone is just using the same website to make the booking! So, I actually had to go through the entire process twice, first for my Saturday ticket then again for my Sunday one! And this meant that I had to pay 2 booking fees (£3 twice) and 2 postage fees (£2 twice)!! I had a winge about this with the chap on the phone and although he agreed with me about it being rather stupid and unfair, he said it was just the way the website had been set up and there was nothing else he could do.

I’m going to drop an email to Goose about this clumsy method, which has actually cost me an extra £5 (no jokes about mean Scotsmen please, its the principle of the thing, dammit!!).

Obviously this will not be an issue for people purchasing tickets for 1 day only, or going for the 3-day weekend ticket.

So, my total price was £35 per day (£30 + £3 booking fee + £2 postage) = £70. I really only needed 1 ticket as my son is accompanying me and he is under 16 so gets in free anyway, however the club ticket offer is strictly “2 for the price of 1” as opposed to half-price tickets (although the website displays it as £15 x 2). Still, having attended this event several times in the past I’m sure it will be worth it all! See you there…

Further to my previous entry, I have just received a phone call from Goose in reply to my complaint, apologising for the restrictive design of the booking process on their website. They have promised to amend the website within the next few days to allow Sat and Sun to be booked in one transaction, and have also offered to reimburse me my £5.

So if you plan to book tickets for Sat and Sun it may be worth waiting for a few days…

Result!!  [:D]

Just used the website to book Sat+Sunday ‘All Race’ tickets for £70 + booking fee/carriage = £77.60 and the site asked for my car registration as well so looks like working OK

Thanks to everyone who has given up there time to help man the site.

This is how the weekend will workout…

 Peter

We will happily do 12-2 on the saturday, do we get to keep the t-shirt and hat? [:)]

Anybody know how many people (mx5 cars) will be attending this event, how many cars on the site, what size is the site and is there a limit?

By the way non-members can access this thread and can therefore get the promo code by going straight to the home page and then going to ‘Silverstone 2009’ just in case you’re intrested.

Andy

 Hi Andy

We are expecting 250 cars over the weekend, the size of the site is determined by the number of advanced tickets sold.

There is no limited on the number of cars the more the better.

PJ

anyone any idea if they will allow you to take two cars (5’s) on the stand? Bought my BOGOF tickets but it only asked for one reg no. and donna may want to bring her car There doesnt seem to be anywhere we can talk too to find out. Or do we have to buy two “offers” to get two cars in?

When I bought the bogof offer I gave two registrations, one for each ticket. Simple as that - but I did phone in my order as the website wasn’t all that brilliant.

I would try phoning the number at the start of the thread, they may be able to help you otherwise I may be able to get you an additional pass alittle closer to the event.

will try them in the week, thanks guys for the help

hi new member here where are you geting bogof tickets from is their a link

thanks

martin

I’ll cover the 4 'til 6 stand slot on the Saturday if you like.

Hi Harco

We go every year and this year we booked the two for one offer for Myself and Debzi in one car, and our friend in his car! The web site only gave us the option for one car registration.

We wanted to clarify the deal and rang seetickets.co.uk. We were told that the two for one offer was for one car, driver and one passenger and not two cars!!!

So we have had to pay another £80 for our friend, registered his car, he the named driver and he can take a passenger for free eg BOGOF!!!

My advice is to check again to avoid disappointment and having to pay more on the day, with no guarantee of getting your car on the infield! The Silverstone web site is very misleading and if you look carefuly it implies that you get two cars for the price of one irrespective of passengers.

We only found this out last Saturday. If this is wrong can anyone advise us!!!

Regards

Jeff

As far as I’m aware it’s wrong. That’s not how it worked last year and it’s not how it worked this year when I booked. I paid for two tickets and expect to get four. One ticket covers car, driver and one passenger. I was asked for registrations and gave three, leaving one ticket open, as I’m not sure who will be using it yet. I guess until the tickets arrive - and last year I got them 10 days before the event - that I won’t know whether they’ve got it right.

However, I booked direct with Wildgoose, or Goose, or whatever they call themselves via the phone and not, as far as I’m aware, through ‘seetickets’, whoever they are.

Hi Passell

Well I am well confused!!![*-)]

Debz has sent Peter an email to see if he can give us some info!

Will keep you posted if we find out some more…

Regards

Jeff
