I like the body styling and the interior design. The led headlights are nice. I am looking forward to hearing about the engines.
The soul red is almost trying too hard. I would like to see some less aggressive colours.
I hope there will be some new technology e.g. HUD.
I thought I would just post a side by side comparison of the final render and the ND that was revealed yesterday. Seems like the final renders were almost perfectly spot on. Wonder if this was an orchestrated leak, or a malicious one.
Do you reckon the LEDS’s in the bumper intakes are going to be on all the time, like Citroen DS3’s ? A relative of mine has just bought a new car in the past few months and shed some light by suggesting maybe permanent running lights are a new law thats just coming in? I blame the illuminati.
Personally I really like it a lot. It’s a huge improvement on the mk3 all round imo. Only thing I’m not sure on is the satnav/entertianment system popping out of the dash. Almost seems like an afterthought rather than integrated into the design of the interior and something more in place in a saloon rather than a small sports car. But that’s a small niggle really. If only it had a bit more power to go with the looks. Wonder how tuneable the skyactiv unit is…
The front end is not the best, and no doubt it will be tweaked here and there over the next few incarnations. Otherwise, I cannot complain. It’s super!
Was really looking forward to this but my first impressions are ‘meh’ but it might grow on me. The proportion looks all wrong to me the front end looks too squashed together in small space and this is made even more obvious with the bulbous rear end (which I like in isolation, hint of Jag about it). They haven’t had the proportion right since the Mk1/2. Hopefully it’ll look better in the flesh but I won’t be rushing to buy one and I really was thinking about making this my first ever brand new car purchase. Alfa will probably produce a prettier car with the same chassis so I might be defecting…
I think the strong, vibrant, bright colours transform the car. They bring out the design features and give the car a more adventurous look. If Mazda sell the car in yellow or bright green, I could be tempted, but not in black, grey, silver & etc.
Agreed , for me an mx5 s appeal was the small size of it and the fact driving it feels like driving "a toy " making them bigger and bigger ,why ?? nice car yeah but in danger of joining a vast range of "just another sports car " bmw, , jag , etc
But in one very important respect you can see the lineage all they way through because it still fits the Club swoosh perfectly, (for which quite a few people are rather grateful)
