Wardy's NC2

So the manifold and remap turned out to be the last adjustment made. Occassional use followed over the rest of the autumn and winter and then in the Spring of this year, I was offered the chance to buy a friend’s Boxster. He was going to part-ex it anyway, so it was therefore available at an attractive price…

So in March I put the NC2 up for sale, following my usual rule that the fun/occassional car needs to be sold before I pick something else up - I’ve got into trouble for that before!

With the Boxster, following a specialist inspection unfortunately it turned out not to be quite as thought and put me off going through with the purchase. In the meantime, I’d had viewings and an offer on the Mazda. So a few weeks after going on sale, it drove off with a new owner.

I was then left with a predicament as I wasn’t quite sure what to get next. I considered a Z4 (E89 revision) and test drove several examples. But to be honest, as nice as some of the engine options were, it felt more like a cruiser than a sports car.

Then I came round to thinking about an ND, which I’d initially discounted given the PRHT version of the NC2 worked so well, and I personally don’t like the look of the RF. I don’t understand why Mazda couldn’t have taken a similar design approach and as they’d done with the NC, but there we are!

So I tried a ND roadster version and the rest is history as they say… continued here
