what colour calipers

Red on a black car

Brilliant Black Mk2.5 with Black calipers. Clean, tidy and not too flash.

I’m looking at purple calipers for my 2006 nc1 (in brilliant black). She’s having a set of nc2 17" alloys, refurbished in dark grey/anthracite/gunmetal/whatever you’d like to call it, so she’ll be fairly dark and I think a deep purple would be a nice contrast, not to mention matching my purple vinyl’d dash trim…

If I had gone for a galaxy grey nc1, especially if it had dark wheels, I’d look at a copper/bronze colour for the calipers. Otherwise, I do think blue looks pretty smart on them.

I went for the OEM look - used Hammerite Smooth (a mix of black and silver) to give a rather nice gunmetal look.  Caliplers, hubs, unswept disc areas/edges, and dust covers were done over two years ago, and are still holding up well.

Also painting my calipers and carriers in black at the moment. They’re rusty tho as they’re 21 years old. Not sure how to get them smooth, but oh well, will do til the winter and I’ll buy new ones

Over the years I have painted my calipers, Red, white, Black and then Purple. Decided on new approach. In the spare bedroom, ground all paint off, cleaned them and repainted them along with the new brake discs, bright red candy.

Sounds great

Painted mine yellow with normal car spray and never had a problem

Silver

Just has my Galaxy Grey NC’s alloys refurbished and had the callipers painted yellow at the same time.
Wheels look fantastic but the callipers turned out a bit more garish than I was expecting. I’m sure the inevitable brake dust and other muck will tone the effect down after a few miles.

On my ZSport which is a deep plum/black metallic i opted for silver caliper paint along with the hub or inner disc part and even the disc outer protection plates, well the bits that are visible and made everthing behind the wheels look new.

Red calipers on a metallic silver roadster

Should have painted them brown to match the bodywork…

Oi it’s not brown

Has anyone any ideas for painting calipers on a Stormy Blue 5? Wanting something that will “pop” Cool

Also considering refurb at some point maybe change of alloy colour to a gunmetal grey!

Electric Blue

Ooh that sounds good! I’ve looked at a few cars with coloured calipers and they tend to go for yellow because that really stands out but it’s quite popular, I like the sound of blue on blue Laughing Thanks!
