Yes I think I might have to do the same with mine , such a pig of a job to do though why oh why didn’t Mazda design easier access to the headlights.
A good couple of days. Finally got my new front wing painted and fitted it on Sunday, looks okay for a non OEM part, got it from Moss. Today washed it and got it mot’d, passed with no advisories, phew! No worries for another year!
This was my argument in an earlier post, in this day and age with state of the art computers, I’m sure with a little bit of thought and re jigging, they could make a tad more access space under the bonnet to enable owners to change a bulb without having to remove wheels and arch liners , and flay your knuckles .
If easy bulb access became a legal requirement it would be sorted in the blink of and eye
I bought a couple of these on Amazon. My door cards are ply, so a couple of small self-tappers attach them. Great for a phone or something smallish.
Cheers, might be just the ticket, are they advertised as car door storage pockets on Amazon?
This is what I bought, but showing as not available
Sure a search will find it from another seller or maybe eBay.

OK thanks, I’ll look on Ebay
Interesting point.
Especially in view of the fact that having a bulb not working is illegal.
I was once told by a cop to say if stopped: “it was working when I started my journey because I always check all my lights.” No one can reasonably be asked to do more than that, so it’s the perfect defence.
I suspect that saying its a tricky job would not cut the mustard.
Saying you have an appointment with a garage probably wouldn’t help either, unless you claim to be driving it to that appointment
Got around to doing this today and it’s an instant fix. Thanks again for the tip @Risingsun ! Unfortunately mine was not as clean as yours so there was a bit extra scrubbing involved. Also I seemed have missed a couple of clips somehow, as long as it doesn’t start another rattle…
Instant fix for what???
Ah, is it the foam under that arch support in the centre??
After changing the rear silencer for a sportier one I was getting a bad resonance/rattle at 2500rpm. Adding some damping under the plastic shown made all the difference.
I had the tyres rotated around as per manual. Local friendly tyre fitters did it - seemed keen to try the ND as one guy drove it in and another out! Ironically the TPWS light came on as I drove down there, which meant I was trawling the manual online by phone whilst they were checking their resources. 2019 manual still shows deleted reset button ( grr ) but the fitters found a record that said it should reset once it’s rolled a distance; which worked. Nothing was wrong with the tyres or pressure so maybe the frost this morning upset the computer?
For future reference @OrangeMX-5, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System Initialization steps are covered at the bottom of this page in the online manual
Or alternatively, I have just copied them here:
- Park the car in a safe place and firmly apply the parking brake.
- Let the tyres cool, then adjust the tyre pressure of all four (4) tyres to the specified pressure indicated on the tyre pressure label located on the driver’s door frame (door open).
- Switch the ignition ON.
- Press and hold the tyre pressure monitoring system set switch and verify that the tyre pressure monitoring system warning light in the instrument cluster flashes twice and a beep sound is heard once.
Regarding why it popped on, I couldn’t say but also had this happen to me when I was driving rather spiritedly over the Pennines and went round a very unusually cambered corner. As the use speed sensors amongst other aspects it might have been one wheel going at a considerably different speed which triggered it.
Hi I,
This is for the earlier cars, on later cars there is no switch on the dash board to reset it.
Yes as per @Mad_Malc comment there is no reset button on ND2, even though it’s in the online manual! Whereas the paper manual gives no help at all!
A quick further check of the online manual seems to suggest the reset by driving is part of the optional run-flat tyre procedures ( I just have the OEM Bridgestone) but maybe it would be a good idea if Mazda updated the MyMazda manuals to actually reflect the cars they sell???
Today I’ve added a third brake light flasher unit and the led strip from mx5things. Looks great!
Nice one Christaples!
Jacked up the Mk3.75 and dropped it onto tyre savers. This is the 7th winter it’s been laid up in the garage and it still looks almost new underneath.
When storing, I also:
Take it for a decent run with the aircon on on dry roads and a near- empty tank
Fill to the brim with fresh fuel, adding antioxidant
Calcium chloride crystals in the cabin
Battery on trickle charge
Handbrake OFF
Purists would slacken the serpentine belt but I’ve never bothered. I would never use a car cover in a garage as they can cause serious damage if moisture gets trapped. Better to rely on a decent coat of wax.
I have the genuine Mazda indoor cover which traps no moisture and fits like a glove and keeps all the dust off too.
Been on for 3 winters now.
Lovely bit of kit.
