Got a brand new Prestige hood & frame to get fitted at Autolink in Dumfries when things ease off.
It’s been in store in my workshop for nearly 2 years! Looking at your mint one…bit frustrating!
Also impressed with your clean carpeting. I’ll need to get mine professionally high-pressure cleaned.
I live in Sudbury, often go to Colchester, I’ll look out for you!

Yesterday, rather than today my NC1 had new engine oil and filter, LSD fluid change, new gearbox oil, brass shifter tip installed, turret oil fill and scuttle grommets replaced. Another small list of things to tick off the ongoing constant maintenance list to keep me happy and my car up to snuff !!
He did mine last year. Will be going back soon once it’s lowered, great guy.
Filled it with fuel
Roof down 40minute drive for absolutely no reason whatsoever… because I’m worth it!
Yes I found out the hard way , will bond or plastic weld them back in place.
Took it for a spin - literally! Accelerated on a slightly wet roundabout and the tail flicked out - managed to catch it before I did a complete 180 but ended up travelling sideways at one point! Slightly embarrassing as there were people waiting to come on, and I must have looked like a complete novice, but it’s the second time it’s happened in the 10 months I’ve had the car. Caught me by surprise each time because it’s so reliably sure-footed otherwise and it’s only a 1.8, but I guess it shows just how spirited these little cars really are
.
Been there, done that! I was working at a Mazda dealership about 14 years ago… I gave demo’s to potential customers on a chosen route - This being Milton Keynes, a roundabout was involved… approached it to turn right… giving it a few beans went round then turned left for the exit… went through 180 degrees and backwards up the verge ! Little ■■■■■■
Can’t remember if we got a sale after that demo!
I wonder if an lsd would have made any difference??
Spent hours “yesterday” cleaning the salt off the paint work.
previously tried
Leaving it and letting the rain clear it
Snow foam application x2
Shampoo
White vinegar
Clay bar
None of them worked.
Some T cut and elbow grease works. Took me about 2 hours to do half the bonnet, the front left arch and boot.
Lesson learnt. When behind salt spreader, wash car asap.

Wonder if a coating (wax, ceramic etc) would help it come off easier in the future?
That is very neat.
I think the leaving it for the rain to clear was the worst thing I did, gave it more time to stick to the paint. Cleaning it off right away is probably the answer.
I’d hope a good ceramic wax would help things, car will get clayed after the salt marks are removed and then waxed.
“What have you done to your MX-5 today?”
Ordered I.L Motorsport 4-1 headers.
Where is the scissor lift from please ? Also how do you find it ? Is it safe and secure ?
Thanks.
