What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Picked up my shiny spare wheels from the powder coaters. I was going to put ps4 on these for winter but I’m now thinking about buying track tyres and get wider rota wheels

Also received a big box full of stuff. This is part 1, rest will probably turn up next month

imagine that, its a small world :joy:

Just picked up my nb from mx5 works. Just had all the brakes and timing belt done. Matt has done a fantastic job. Recommend him highly for mx5 works.

The work continues……luckily everything has been superficial surface rust and no nasty surprises.

Excellent job you done there, Ray from epping Essex

Can you advise what bulbs you used and where purchased please? Also, how did you fit them? Do you need to remove the wheel arch lining? Many thanks. Barry

I only show the pictures…the hard work is being done by my Bro-in-law on his 2.0 Sport.

You don’t need to remove the lining but you do need to undo several of the fasteners in order to gain access.
Several of us have done this, it’s a simple, cheap and highly effective solution.
A bit of searching should turn up a couple of threads.
I got my bulbs from Autobulbs Direct.
I also replaced my sidelight bulbs with bright, white led bulbs from them. Again simple, cheap and highly effective.

No car this week (2014 Venture) as I took it to the MX5 restorer for …

Underseal including behind the bumpers
Remove the fabric under plastic wheel arches
Full service incl all fluids
Suspension attention to be decided once they have a look

Which back box is that?

Looks for all the world like a production line shot building a new car.

I believe it’s a Jetex exhaust.

Not a very big job, but finally got round to putting the BBR sticker on my boot lid. Had it on my to do list since I got my BBR200 kit fitted a few months ago. Very please with it, and the kits good as well

I used H11 LED Cree from ABD.
These may well have been superseded by now though.
As well as these and led sidelights, I would also recommend led number plate lights and an led reversing light - makes a huge difference.

I used these ones and no you don’t need to remove the trim completely, just unclip the front few when steering on full lock and then carefully get your hand in.
