What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Good for you and well done for getting through all that - twins on the red NC too :sunglasses:

STRONG EFFORT

Not exactly today, but the first time I’ve been underneath since Tizzy came back from MX5 Restorers.

New gear lever selector plate fitted. Whilst there I piped some fresh oil into the gear box with a short piece of hose and a funnel via the fill hole on the box. Much easier this way than grovelling under the car with a pump.
Also had a new brass shifter bush delivered, that didn’t go well, it was a smaller dia than I have fitted so it’s going back.

I have not been here for ages, spent what feels like the last 6 months refitting my kitchen (6 weeks really). My MX5 was relegated to the drive way to make room in the garage for all the new units :sleepy:.

I have made up for it now, given her a wash and after 12 months of ownership, I have put my number plate on :hugs:.

Checked scuttle grommets this morning. Found someone had already been here and done a good enough job, so just cleaned everything up and put it back together again.
If any in the New Forest wants to pick up a couple og new grommets, PM me.

Today I have replaced my rocker cover, fitted an engine damper, a brake stopper, new engine lift hooks x2. Yesterday I did an engine oil and filter change, Millers synthetic and K&N gold oil filter.

Removed the rear panel (and lights) repositioned boot lock, replaced with new rear panel. I’m a total novice at tinkering, never done anything like this before - no instruction manual, thoroughly enjoyed it and feeling very happy

Tomorrow: remove centre console to swap in dual fuel/boot release and replace console/heating bulbs.

Put it on the CTEK overnight as haven’t been able to drive in this glorious weather on account of being hit with the lurgy. Not Covid, just coughing & spluttering like in the good old days  :disappointed:

I fitted some small interior touches. Door handle and door latch. Hopefully you can zoom in on the before and after
