Lovely . How do you find the flex z on an nd?
Early days yet, I have only just driven it back from BBR, it’s been sat in the garage since. I am very happy with the way it’s sitting & initially it feels very similar to the Bilsteins, but of course I have full adjustability now.
I don’t intend tracking it so comfort was a priority. I previously had a Supercharged NC which I did track on Meisters but I didn’t like them for road use.
Great stuff. I recently fitted some and haven’t had the chance to put too many miles on them but initial impressions are very good. I thought the same, no real loss of comfort over standard but much better roll control and handling. Probably not focussed enough for hard track but I won’t be tracking mine anyway either .
Going back for under seal is my March project as well.
Fitted my New Battery Clamp did some rewiring… now modding projects put on hold… best chrissy prez today I got the eye operation for next week due to some one dropping out so hopefully will be driving next year…
Merry Christmas and Happy new Year to All Club Members hope to catch up with some of you at the National Rally 2024. or Japfest Silverstone
A set of JVC 6x8" for £32 of ebay (new in box) was going the component route but the cost for those speakers were silly money.
And… Yellow caliper paint for my soon to be purchased new calipers and discs and pads.
Dont you just love christmas
Today, I carried out a total transformation!
Sows ear:
Silk purse:
Well, all right, I just gave it a wash, but it was absolutely filthy.
Minty👌
Aftermarth of lasts night storm! So glad i had the insurance for glass, otherwise £1400 for the glass and frame.
Thank heavens you are insured and you have had some good fortune in as much as whatever smashed the window doesn’t seem to have damaged the body work.
Gave it a wash, took it for a little drive, then parked it in the garage, ready for operation “replace scuttle grommets” tomorrow.
Sold it, it’s now on it its way north. But a newer one lurks in the garage.
Darn it, got part-way through the operation, and got stuck
Clueless eejit here has managed to:
Remove the full-width rubber strip across the front of the cowl
Remove the drivers side windscreen wiper
Separate the screen wash hose at the mid-point
Unscrew the screw on either side that is close to the windscreen and hidden under a brittle plastic cover
But I can’t get the passenger side wiper arm to come off. The puller I’ve bought simply won’t squeeze in there until the plastic cowl is removed, and the plastic cowl can’t be removed until the wiper arm is off. Bit of a catch 22!
I also think there’s a connector catch of some sort holding the two plastic cowl halves together in the centre (I’ve carefully undone all the front-edge connector clips), but darned if I can find it or work out how it comes undone…
<Nick scratches head, and looks very confused>
Put the wiper arm in the vertical position and give it a wiggle, it should release off the spline. The two halves of the panel can be left connected as with the washer tubes. Just unattach the rubber strip that runs along that panel under the bonnet, it’s fastened by slits in the rubber on to metal tangs, sharp little b****"
The panel can then be moved out of the way on each side for access to the grommets
How do I get the wiper arm up to vertical please Mick? Start the engine, flick wipers on, and kill power at relevant moment?
And I’ve already found the sharp little blighters holding the full-width rubber strip in place. Successfully removed that strip. Just the wiper arm that is acting the … ah yes: goat.
I mean pivot the arm off the windscreen up to vertical, as you do when washing the screen (well I do)
Aha! I’ll give that a go in a minute Mick - Thank you. At this point, I think the manual says “Take a short break and drink a coffee before proceeding any further”
So today, I’ve taken the wiper arms off, pulled the cowl out of the way (see photo), and am preparing to replace the pesky darned “scuttle grommets”. A huge thank you to @MickAP for kind guidance on what to do with a slightly reluctant passenger wiper arm!
I’ll enclose photos of the two grommets as well. I think I caught these just in time - through the white plastic, you can see that the black rubber “washers” have started to perish on both sides of the car.
New ones ready and waiting to be fitted now, but that might be a job for tomorrow
and the semi-perished grommets:
Stil silicone seal around too, belt and braces.
