Well doneđŸ‘đŸ». Did 30 miles in mine today. Covered in mud and road debris, but nothing beats a drive out instead of thinking about summer😁

Difficult?
Expensive?

Actuator???
Second hand unit ÂŁ35 :white_check_mark:
Not difficult to change, just a little fiddly :smirk:
( just read the threads available a couple of times) :white_check_mark::white_check_mark:

Biggest tip I can give is just take note of how you ease the unit out of the door .
I had a coffee :coffee: before fitting the replacement unit and it took me 5 minutes to work out the orientation for getting it back in as there is very limited room passing the
foam block :hushed::hushed:

Took me 1 hr 15 minutes ( expected 3 hrs )
Start to finish :+1:t3::+1:t3:

Thanks.

My driver’s door actuator still works but sometimes takes a few goes. Once it’s been used a couple of times in a day, it works reliably. The passenger side is fine.

I can’t hep wondering if there’s a way of improving the performance of a sticky actuator?

Mine’s totally packed up.

It’s on its way out, mine did the same, lasted another six months then failed altogether. It’s usually worse in warmer weather, why probably contacts expanding, who knows.
I had my failed one apart, a few electrical gubbins in there soldered, one looked a little burnt. I suppose a wiz with some knowledge of such stuff could have sorted it but a ÂŁ25 SH replacement hardly worth it.

My driver’s door actuator also did the “works intermittently for a few weeks, then fails completely”

Just sharing as confirmation that it is a clear indication that the actuator is on its way out :slight_smile:

I was thinking more in terms of a squirt with WD40 than serious soldering
 :thinking:

Bled the clutch (finally) with the help of the missus. Asked her to check the level to save me crawling out from under the car but she didn’t notice the back half was empty and the next thing the pedal hit the floor. Gone completely. Had to pop to toolstation and buy an eazibleed to get the fluid back in there - wanted one for ages just never had the need until now.

Quite a noticeable difference in doing this, must have never been done before. Before with the car off and clutch down you’d struggle to get into each gear without moving around to others then back, now it slips in and out of every gear in turn.

For the first time in what seems like months, I finally had a spare afternoon when it wasn’t raining so, it had a much overdue wash.
It was nearly dark by the time I finished.

After getting the paintwork to shine again like it should, I realised while driving to work this morning I won’t see the car again in daylight until Friday!

Another satisfied customer, thanks @Roadie

Service, MOT, new tyres all round and wheel alignment. Feels like a different car.

Big plug for Vincent’s Motor Works, Stradbroke (formerly Cleverley Repaired Cars). Top man.

Didn’t know it was possible before today, but the service was added to Mazda’s digital service record.

Thanks for this shout out. I’m booked for an underseal there in March and hadn’t even thought of using him for servicing. :see_no_evil: The service is actually due then too!

Will add that to the (ever growing) list!
