What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Link to them, if that’s helpful:

I’d looked at these ones previously, so think I’ll get some as well :+1:

Where did you get the black rear Mazda badge ?

I bought all new genuine mazda badges unfortunately mazda only make them in chrome for the nd. I then got local bodyshop to spray them all gloss black. Maybe could of done it cheaper myself but when you consider the different materials you will need I thought it best to leave to professionals!

I bet the owner was in tears!

Put on some Clifford alarm stickers to beef up my security.

Not today but yesterday, Fathers Day. Gave my Dad a go of my :100: Anniversary MX-5.
A hint was dropped on the visit before that he had never had a go :face_with_peeking_eye:.
My Dad has a NB. He though mine was lovely but struggled to get out of it .

Can I ask where you purchased the Stubby Aerial, Smoked Indicators and black badges please.

Looking to add these to my black car, I want to make it look as stealth as possible!

Thanks

Simon

Ian prossor further up has links to where he has bought the stubby from and the smoked indicators.

Black badges are also discussed further up but basically you have to either use plastidip or buy new badges and have them sprayed like I did to mine in gloss black!!

Into the snagging phase now… Lots of little tidying up, ride height adjustment, checking old work. Removing all the rust means also protecting against future rust, so today was mostly an epic and filthy session of wax and cavity treatment- it looked lovely with the new paint etc, now it looks orrible and it’s as slimy as a slug but it’s all worth it.

Also, took the AWR engine mounts back out, just too much booming in the cabin- it was like being inside a drum. I’ll try again with softer bushings, people say they bed in after 500 miles but frankly **** driving it 500 miles like this! Horrible. The extra vibes of the 2.5 no doubt don’t help.

I kind of ran out of steam so I spent a little time putting some flashing tape into the boot to try and do a bit of noise suppression back there. Nothing major, just a bit of rattle and boom reduction, I don’t want to add as much weight as I usually would when doing sound reduction. The boot floor metal may be a little thin too now, which adds to the noise

(previously put the stock backbox back on, the Cobra that came on the car plus the headers and goodwin midpipe were just obnoxiously loud, and not even nice sounding. Not sure what’ll go on there instead. Actually the stock one doesn’t sound bad!)

Still got to get the front end plastics and undertray and such back on, finish a little paint repair, and sort out the mysterious knock from the front left, and I’ve some ABS faults to diagnose which I just haven’t looked at yet, but it’s very nearly MOT time

Whilst getting terribly sunburnt on the shoulders today has been a productive day on the new MX-5. Dave fab brake stopper fitted, Dave fab washer bottle fitted, raptor painted the cam cover, installed trickle charger system for winter with solar charging as well, mounted the extinguisher in the boot and fitted the boot curtesy light.
Only one photo as I’m now soaking in a bath of aloe Vera!

Subtle, expensive for what it is, but looks good.

Made some temporary brackets for my new lotus probax seat. Took it for the first drive and really enjoying a little more connected feeling. Now to try and get it just a little bit lower.
Also made a little pedal extender which has made heal and tow sooo much easier - almost feels like cheating
