Bought and tried some Turtle Wax headlamp polish and sealant.
Works well at polishing with a nice consistency that makes it easy to use.
Time will tell on how good it is at sealing and preventing more oxidation.
Not actually done anything today, but have decided to replace the vinyl roof, which is showing plenty of signs of wear and tear, with a mohair roof from SoftTopShop.
Also starting to investigate a respray and getting the small amount of bubbling on the windscreen frame sorted. Have had the car a year now and have sorted basically all the mechanical issues, so now time to sort the “cosmetic” stuff
I’d be interested in your experience with replacing the soft top on your car if you don’t mind sharing?
Some photos of the finished job would be great.
What colour are you going for?
Will be sticking with black, car is currently silver, so don’t think any of the colours would suit it.
I’ve read good things on here about The Soft Top Shop, will definitely post pictures when it’s done!
I’ve finally got round to re-covering my seats! Mazda MX5 Eunos Seat Covers 1989-1997 (NA) - Enhanced OE | Prestige Autotrim Products Ltd
Have now booked the new roof fitting for September 20th. Excited to have mohair instead of vinyl!
New project purchased Monday. Not sure if anyone else saw this on autotrader, but as it was half a mile away I got in first! Sorry. Needs a lot of work, but couldn’t leave it.
2006 NC1 MOT today - Pass again with no issues at a few miles short of 106,000.
Booked my 2023 2.0 into Roddisons Sheffield for:- 4 wheel alignment, new brake fluid (Brakes feel spongy to me) fitting of some Roddison pads, gearbox and diff oil change, fitting a front stabiliser bar, fitting of a gearbox cooling scoop (if they have one in stock) hopefully sorting out an annoying squeak in the roof when its up.
It will be interesting to hear whether or not the steering wheel is absolutely central after the wheel alignment. It drives me mad if my wheel isn’t central.
I don’t think Rodders will let the car out with an off centre SW, he didn’t on mine😮
Gave the poor thing a wash. After some demolition work and no longer having a garage it was covered in dust and dirt and all sorts, a bad back keeps me from more work but also keeps me out of the car (for now) .
He centers the steering wheel and it’s held in place with a spring loaded rod before he starts alignment
Have had a exhaust rattle for a little while ,at certain RPMs and sometimes at idle which would silence if you held a tail pipe, so today popped the back box off to have a look , I think I have found it ! Will be running a spare back box till I choose what is next…. Not sure I can save this one .
RX-7 FD?
Yeah, not in bad condition but, wanted to smarten them up a little
