Are you selling your door cards?
Hi Matt, not sure they would be any use to anyone as the top section has been cut off and used with the new door cards , if any of the bits like handle or silver cover bits are useful to you you are welcome to them .

Ultimate brake kit upgrade and IL Motorposrt catted centre (to go with the IL Motorsport back box and Racing Beat downpipe) all from MX5 Parts.
Slight challenge with the exhaust rubbing on the IL Motorsport bracing, but all sorted by the team.
Sounds good, can you share any more details of your route, eg ferries, places to stay etc? Photo Lagos, Algarve, Sept ‘22
Sure. Short version:- We went from East Yorkshire and got the ferry to Calais. 1st night (transit night) was in Cuincy France. (353 miles) 2nd night was at Martelange Belgium (165 miles) spent day looking at Bastogne war stuff including 101st Airbourne (Band of Brothers) fox holes. 3rd night was Wurzberg Germany (270 miles) driving on the Romantic Road. 4th & 5th nights were at Augsburg Germany (150 miles) 6th & 7th nights were at Bertchesgaden Germany (150 miles) looking at WW2 things. 8th night was at Prato allo Stelvio Italy (190 miles) a stop just before we did the Stelvio Pass. 9th night was at Bormio Italy (30 miles) day was spent driving over the Stelvio Pass. 10th night was near Lake Como Italy (85 miles) 11th & 12th nights were at Aosta Italy (150 miles) 13th night was at Montreux Switzerland (125 miles) after driving over the San Bernard Pass. (The Italian Job!) 14th & 15th nights were at Verdun France (385 miles) looking at WW1 stuff. 16th night was at Calais France (250 miles) Final day was back home to East Yorkshire (300 miles) Hope its of interest. Any questions just ask.
Thanks for that- considering a Romantic road road trip in 2025….we’re frequent visitors to Westendorf in the Tirol……but to date have only got there by air, either into Munich or Salzburg. Hiring a car in Salzburg and taking the “back roads” takes you very close to Berchtesgaden and the Eagles Nest. That route avoids the autobahn which in the ski season, can be very congested but conversely are more prone to snow issues……
After a good 75 mile run out today , I let the car cool and then did the diff oil change. The magnet was cleaner than I was expecting but the car has done 21k miles now. I don’t believe the oil has been changed on time . I put Liquid Moly in there with my ketchup pump which makes life very easy to do. I also used a marker paint on the plugs just to be sure they dont move .

I also now have rivetted about 15 spot welds on the gearbox cross brace. Pretty frustrating , but it will have to remove for changing the gearbox oil and probably drill and rivet every weld. Long term, I will get the modified cross braces for both under the car from MX5 parts and be done with it.
Ah thanks for the response
Cleaned all the bird cr@p off the bonnet and took the nbfl for a spin up & down the Fife coast before 7am OR even having any breakfast. Got the revs up to 6000rpm too (allegedly) It doesn’t often get into those heady heights.
Nice job, it looks great! I did similar in my MX-5 ND. There’s a ton of pics on my blog mx5.co.uk
Brakes today, on my new to me NC 3.75. New front discs, pads, slider pins, pad mountings. Old discs were badly scored, offside front slider pin was seized solid. New pads and mountings for the rear along with new pins and rubbers. Both inner rear pads were down to less than 1mm. So much for Full Service History, the brakes clearly hadn’t been touched for years. Note to local garage that serviced it for years for the previous owner: an annual service is more than just an oil change, personally I’d rather see a charge on the invoice for brake cleaner rather than screen wash…
My local Mazda dealer charged me £2.50 for topping up my screen wash container that was 95% full.
Very unusual. Typically they charge £8 or so regardless of its state, when you go for your annual oil change + washer fill + coffee (aka Mazda Main Dealer Service). The trick is to explain when you check in that bottle is full and does not need to be filled. That worked for me when I took my wife’s 2023 Maz 3 for its first MD service. I service my RF myself.
Ialways fill the screenwash on all our cars before they go for a stealer service. And usually mention it on handover. However our local dealer for a car brand beginning with V charged £3.50 on the invoice. When I complained the response was that they had quoted a fixed price as the car had not done many miles for the 1 so there was no rebate for jobs not done
Unbelievable!
I think main dealers can’t help themselves, they just HAVE to charge for everything. If they had just said “oh that’s only a small thing, no charge for that” i would have gone back there every year, as it is, i won’t be going there again. Shame i can’t do my own MOTs.
Got a clean MOT for my 1993 Eunos “Daisy” - I’d had some throttle body issues that got sorted at the MOT so I promise to do more miles (kms) next year. She will be at Little Gransden Air & Car Show next Sunday . . .
Trouble is we now do so few miles that after 5 years the car is only really on it’s 2nd service and they will do a deal and we keep the Main Dealer history and the next 12 months breakdown cover plus software updates. Now only use them for scheduled service everything else goes to a local service guy or a soecalist indy or diy.
