What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

If it’s not in the owners manual about being OCD, then it probably should be…similar to the BMW manual where it states; Drive Like a Complete A***Hole. (other similar makes are available).

Just got some I.L.Motorsport rubber mats for winter from MX5 Parts, (through Ebay as cheaper!)
On a par with my BMW rubber mats…

If you have it, it should be CDO of course!!!

That was my thought when I saw the photo! Believe it or not I gave it a really good scrub with a stiff bristle brush and it looked ok while still damp.

And that posts shows exactly why Mad_Malc is called Mad_Malc and not Malc…

Collected from Autoshine Detailing, Southsea (5* Highly recommended )
after having to admit defeat to the vagaries of weather, scant hours of daylight and a current lack of workshop. Should have done it years ago.

Went to the local parts supplier (also Southsea, also recommended)
for some ILMotorsports rubber floor mats - £31 and change . Should have done it years ago.

Started off badly today - My ND 30AE was due its MOT and it failed on the emissions test. However, things improved when the tester did some checking and found the cause was a leaking backbox exhaust seal. Quick tighten up of everything and it then passed. Strange that my 18 year old NC just seems to keep passing without issues and my 5 year old ND failed. Anyway, back home and got on with giving the ND a good wheels off clean - all tidy. Brakes done as well. Ceramic coating to put on the wheels tomorrow when the temperature is a bit higher.

I bought it a little treat. Set of winter tyres and wheels (with thanks for @Wardy5 for spotting a suitable set for me!). Drove across the Pennines to pick them up this morning.

…part 3, and definitely the final part.
The problem with a trimming project is that if you have stuff left over you start looking for more things to trim. Cubby door and small trim piece covered. Also new gaiters with red stitching to match the seats

Overall, quite happy with the interior now, and it is a big improvement over the acres of black plastic.

What have you ( let ) done to your MX5 today ?

Well a very nice bloke from The Netherlands installed the cruise control for me. To be honest, for the 20th Anniversary model this should have been standard on it, but helas.

It was an 1,5 hour drive to get to him, and on the way back, I could enjoy the cruise control to it fullest. What a joy, happy happy smiles on my face.

He also has a youtube channel in which he shows his work done to his NB, NBFL.

I fitted cruise control to my 20AE, I didn’t notice the cruise light on the dashboard though

Today I took the seats out to measure up space and bolt patterns for new seats.

Dash will be coming out again to refit the door bars with the interior trim. New dash gauge faces purchased (Rev limiter warbird and led white bulbs), laxer dash face to get.

Keep me busy over Christmas.
