What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

He also has a web site, which although in Dutch, remains very readable when auto-translated by your web browser. Very interesting guy.

When I activate the cruise controle the orange light turns on, and when I set a speed it turns green. But when Cruise control is off it shows no light

Correct I forgot to mention that, his website is also very elaborate.

On his youtube channel you will also see the accident he had, when transporting his MX5 ( spoiler alert it fell of the trailer :smiling_face_with_tear: )

Next time I use it I’ll take note although, I have changed the gauge pod from the original one that was in

Went to the tyre shop to get a screw removed only to find a nail in addition to the screw and a leak from another part of the tyre. It was also close to the tread limit. Had to pay £37 for a part worn no brand tyre in order to drive away.

Now home to order a complete set of new tyres. From an anticipate £8 plug to probably £500 on new rubber. I love Mondays.

Look at Black Circles. You can get a decent set of Kumhos for around 300 notes.

Good shout. £92 a corner quoted for the XL variant. £120 for the non XL. Not much cheaper.

So having treated my MX5 to a set of winter wheels and tyres last week, I realised I’d need to find a way to fit them :upside_down_face:

A quick trip to Halfords today, and I caught the last day of their Black Friday sale to get a solid discount off the cost of an ultra-low profile trolley jack, and a set of wheel nut sockets. Figured I’d keep myself safe and grab some wheel chocks while I was there. Nice to have an opportunity to use my Owners’ Club 8% discount, too.

Bought a set of the genuine Mazda footwell lights from MX5Parts on one of their black Friday deals. Fitted a set of these to my 2016 Icon about four years ago, I got this ND new nearly a year ago and the winter is here I thought I’d better start pulling it apart and drill some holes in the trim :weary:. I did post photos on here when I did the fitting before but here are some more. This time showing the cable route I took with a red arrow.

ND just dropped to my mechanic with a box of four lovely rear bushings from Performance Bushes. Had hoped to put this job off to next year but the offside rear was knocking a goodun and it plays on your mind knowing there is unwanted movement back there.

Four new Kumho PS71’s and an alignment booked next week as well. Money pit.

If you buy some fish tank filtration material, you can remove the flaps from the drain tubes and push the filtration material into the bottom of the drain.
Allows water to get out and improves the noise issue.

Do you think the ride from the 215/40 will be a little to hard then

Yes and it makes the speedo a bit more accurate.

yes I had already thought of that and it linked to the sat nav etc then again I think I might have other problems with clearance on my wheel archers might just stick to the same tyre size and go for a different brand …

I’m on 215/45 and I have no problems with rubbing.

Thanks for that mate I just wonder if the 20mm spacers might just push the tyres to the corner of the outer side of archway ???
