Ouch!
Oh dear
As they say around these here parts’ “Nay affa fine”.
Ooops !
Reminds me of Bullit BEFORE I had her professionally welded in 2019
At least you know now so can get it sorted
Quick job this morning, additional coats of paint on my new toe control arms now fully cured.
In go the Strongflex poly bushes.
These were somewhat tighter than others I’ve fitted to rear arms, almost wanting to ‘relax’ and push out of arm sleeve
Fitted the MX5Things Roof Controller.
No more holding buttons for me…
Drove it to the NY500 Cafe
Dropped donut sugar in it.
A wash down to get rid of the grass/tree pollen that seems to have appeared this week, then took it for a short drive out with my son. As he asked for… “the country way”
Technically I’ve not done it but, my local garage did the engine oil, filter, diff and gearbox oil today.
Looking forward to Japfest on Sunday
Thanks for posting. Been wanting to get some for months but was unsure of quality and fit. Your pics prompted me to get my order in!
Just note of caution with reagard to the the stainless steel battery cover:-
- It seems a shame to remove the OEM bracket as this is not a bad bit of kit for Mazda. Perhaps the boffins at Jass could have designed this in with their own
tray bracket, anyway that’s not going to happen anytime soon. - The edges are sharp enough that I have already scratched the paint work and nearly put a split in the air hose. To be on the safe side I have taped up the cover edges with denso tape.
- The cover is a tight fit around the battery so I have beefed up the cable protection as there will be occasions when I will be removing the cover to trickle charge the battery.
- The tour de force however is bonnet support rod now sits tight on the battery cover. I suppose the positive is that the cover is trapped and should not move.
those tollerances look too tight for my liking.
Service day today.
got under the ND1 to do oil (and fit the ClearR chasis brace while bits were off).
i got to the sump plug… found this! threw me right off. then i googled it, and found out what it was.
absolute genius!!!
(note in that demo vid, theres no oil in that car. hence the dribble of oil. it does flow fast!)
So the sump plug stays put (so you don’t break the seal, and don’t loose it in the oil pan), and you just flick the quick release tab. Poof
Oil into my pan. Not a single drop of mess on the floor or my hands
very pleased. didnt get a good pic of it under full flow, as had the catch funnel right under it. but flows great.
Another delivery for the ‘too do’ list on my NC
Not the usual ‘go to’ brand names that are available but at £220 delivered Ive took the leap.
I have to say the Tig welding on this header is of a pretty high standard.
Also came with gasket and small heat shield.
Where it’s for I don’t know but hey it’s there
Ordered the sg1 Mazda diff oil from MXParts, plus the crush washers for the drain and fill holes. I’ll give that to them when it’s serviced in a month or so.
Did the diff oil 3 years ago (same deal, I bought it and the dealer did it), and only 3.5K miles ago, so probably silly really.
