What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

After much effort, skinned knuckles and some blue language I won the battle removing the rusted and seized bolts to my stock exhaust silencer. Unfortunately I opened the box to the new one and it contains a silencer for an ND but I have an NC :weary:

So sadly it’s a case of Performance Still Awaits……

Fitted a pair of bonnet lifters on my mates 25th Anniversary Edition. Took a bit of faffing about, drilling etc, but they’re on and work perfectly.

Love that pic so much…! They look like toys, but I guess that’s just what they actually are most of the time…! :joy:

 security camera screen-grab and then blurred the background a bit! Yep, could be a couple of Dinky toys and I play with them as much as I Can.

Made the mistake of “investigating” one of the bubbling rear arches on my Euphonic, since they had noticeably deteriorated after the long winter outside. Wish I’d left it well alone :confounded:

I knew both sides had been welded for the MOT at the start of last year before I bought the car and looked pretty sound at that time. To be fair the sill ends are still solid, and it did recently pass an MOT again without an advisory, but this arch in particular looks very sorry for itself now. The lip was mostly reconstructed with filler and it’s just falling off - I knew it would need new ones eventually, but I’ve got other bigger projects to finish at the moment, so will just be trying to stop it getting too much worse for now.

I treated the car to a new set of Uniroyals this morning to cheer myself up, and maybe divert some attention from the rust :joy:

Those nice alloy wheels will divert attention from the rust.

Added 30BHP by painting rear calipres to match the fronts and added a GT badge for no reason whatsoever

Might I ask where you bought the “Prancing Hairdryer” badges from? They look so apt.
Thanks, Laurie
