Got a Chrysler 300c to do tomorrow. That may take longer!
Will do mate, with any luck I’ll get it done this weekend (South Yorkshire weather permitting) and will post pics once done.
Good luck with the 300c, that is one hell of a big car!
Love those, even Jeremy Clarkson was impressed!
I’ve got 1st refusal when dads done with it. Managed to find this 59 plate 60k not used for chauffeuring.
Proper big bus that. Aren’t they Merc mechanicals?
Hang on, what are us three doing here!
Yep all merc!
Lovely.
Needs a mesh grill but no B badges!

I do like those cars - a bit different. Will you be getting a membership to the “Ant Hill Mob?” - (a wacky races reference for those not old enough…! but I suppose it should be black for guaranteed entry)
I can’t claim credit for this one, my Dad has fitted a variation of a toure cover for his NB.
It comes apart in three sections and fits in the boot if you need to put the roof up…… not quick to take off though.
I like that.
Any info on it please?
Took a first and last pic with my boy in the car before its collection by Prestige Spares. He loved it and his child seat fit perfectly with the isofix fixings in the seat back. Not bad for a car designed in the nineties! Just wish it wasn’t condemned to disassembly as a result of tin worm, so I could take him for a drive in it.
Added 2K lacquer to these and then buffed them off
This is the difference between “treated” orange peel and untreated. You can avoid orange peel if you can apply the lacquer evenly. I don’t have the skill to do it that well.
Could get better results with more time but happy with them now.
Alas no pictures, too busy working on it today. When on a roll with dirty fingers don’t stop…
While in the garage I cleaned all the rubber seals for doors, windows, PRHT, boot, bonnet and made sure any channels were open for drainage (very long cable-ties make excellent non-destructive feelers). Once dry again, I applied lots of Gummi Pfledge to all the rubber.
I’ve also applied more Silent Coat in strategic places, mostly on the back of trim, to stop pingy or rattly bits. This took most of the day.
After dinner when the outside was cooling down I cleaned it, mostly removing mud from underneath, a quick fan spray to clean off any on the paintwork and finally rinsing the paint with rain water and a pat dry with the microfibre. The quick cheat done 500 miles (only!) ago last October (!) pre-MOT with Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic seems to be holding up nicely.
And then a fifteen minute blow-dry to clean up the discs and dry underneath, and put in 41 litres of V-Power. The Silent coat seems to have been worthwhile, and the Gummi seems to have stopped the worst wind noise source. But I can’t be certain because I didn’t have a spare pair of ears in the car to complain about it… I’ll find out on Saturday.
"spare pair of ears"
Pardon??
