Neat job

Sent a pheasant to meet his maker. Front offside bumper whist doing 50mph. Fortunately the car did not think I had hit a pedestrian so bonnet and charges in tack. Phew !

Luckily lol

A little trip to Pro-Grip for a 2nd geo set-up and investigation into a mystery clunk. Very pleased with the overall result, the car received a very thorough going over and given a solid clean bill of health with a little more toe out at the front dialled in for even more keeness on turn in

I took my rf for its 2nd service at mazda. Unfortunately they couldn’t find the cause of the rattling roof so it’s booked in next month for a full day so they can take the roof apart and refit it, which thankfully is all under warranty.

Took it to Milcars (Radlett) for annual service and MOT. Sailed through as usual.

In view of recent posts about extremely beautiful white NCs I thought this one they have on sale for £11,995 might be of interest or amusement.

I decided to go for ceramic coating, looking good. Most of the improvement came from the preparation though. At least it should keep the finish longer without too much effort. While I like the satisfaction of time spent waxing and getting a lovely shine, I really don’t have time to do it often enough.

Is that a good price for that Richard or one of those " inflated due to shortage" efforts?
I’ve noticed up here, some folk are chancing their private sale prices to Joke level but fair play if they get what they want.

It looks about par for the course on those models.
Looking myself up until the start of last month, if you could find a 12 plate Kuro, low mileage in excellent condition for that money then buy it.
I missed out on around 3 by waiting, slow at not getting myself on the road to look at them soon enough.

It all worked out in the end, bought privately, me and the seller were happy with the price.

They look much bigger in white. I saw one zipping around Eastbourne last summer It looked too big ( at first glance ) to be a MX5 NC But I saw it several times later. Lovely colour. … It suits the car …

As I said recently. When you wax polish a modern car. You are only waxing the top coat ( lacquer ) You cannot wax the paintwork which is several coats below the lacquer coat ! But what you do with the ceramic coat is ** Seal In ** the finished gloss… You can keep this finish looking just as well with a product by Auto Glym * extra gloss protection * You need about three coats of that (Soon after each other ). And then once every month or so. The lustre starts to improve after three coats. It’s not a long job It goes on and comes off very easily But you will start to see a marked improvement after the second / Third coating. And you will notice something else. The car becomes much easier to clean after It’s rained, Just trying to be helpful. I’ve become a science professor lately on the best techniques of polishing cars … Maybe a bit of ā€˜repetitive cleaning disorderā€˜ RCD,
I have to be careful what I say on here about ā€œpolishingā€œ or I will get a polishing cloth and a tin of pledge stuffed in my hand from her indoors …

You notice the same as me Ray, the Mk3.5/Mk3.75 have a longer nose, well appears to and the white does make them look larger.
I have a chock towards the rear of my garage, when the NS rear wheel touches it I’m there parked up. When I changed cars (from NC1) I had to move it back a few inches to give me the room at the front of the garage to get around the car.

Of course they could well measure the same but that front bumper seems stick out more than the previous one, obviously a different shape.

Yes, you have noticed the same as me re colour… It’s an obvious optical illusion They are all the same size given an inch !
Incidentally (The ND is actually 4 inches shorter overall than the NC ) Which is no bad thing … Colin Chapman of the Lotus Motoring legend once remarked that a car needs to be ā€œshort and wideā€œ
I’m wondering if your remark of having to move your floor marker chock in the garage for certain cars that appear Outwardly to be approximately the same length Might be because of a slight difference in the wheelbase of the MX5 NC1 and other Similar MX 5 models… ? I’m guessing I don’t know… But just going back on your theory that the NC’ s might have different bonnet lengths. Again I’m not sure but I thought that the extra 1 inch length of the NC 2 against the overall length of the NC1 was in the boot area not the bonnet ? Not sure, Best regards from Ray… I wonder what our wives would be thinking with us talking about cars being an inch longer or shorter to each other …O.M.G

Good question, alas I don’t know the answer on prices (I’m not looking for a car, so it all passes me by.)

An unremarkable anonymous grey RF was parked there when I arrived at 13.45 for my 14.00 slot, and I was in a hurry to leave at 17.00. I’d have asked about the Kuro if I had seen it earlier, purely because of the recent threads .

I was working in comfort inside on the laptop with free coffee while I waited, muse humming, oblivious to the world, and didn’t really notice the service etc took almost an hour longer than usual. My engine was already running when I saw the Kuro properly in front of my car and recognised it so I just poked the phone above the windscreen and snapped it.

Is the black roof standard??

There is no doubt that the later NC models are more desirable and command a bigger price And they do look nicer too ! But I love a bit of customising and will soon venture to change the look of my NC1 grill area … The NC models can look very nice with a bit of personalising etc
By personalising cars like the MX5 you get a nice roadster with a unique appearance all of its own …

I don’t know for sure, but I think so.
MickAP will know much better than I.
