Happy new car

filled the tank for the first time since the recent shortages, Tesco Momentum now at £1.51/litre

Is Tesco Momentum any good?

I paid £1.65 for my first tank of BP Active over the weekend 😵‍💫

Works for me.
Improved running and indeed MPG which pays for the additional cost.
Tried it to Scotland trip and back in June and have used it ever since. :slightly_smiling_face:

Momentum is 99 Ron, so higher octane than most premium fuels.
I think your car has a knock sensor, my 2011 has, so the ignition should advance until preignition is detected, then retard a little from there.
This means you should get more ignition advance and more performance.
Allegedly, you can get 10 bhp more from an ND, simply by filling it with VPower

Not just today but over the last few days - fitted new front hubs to my NC1. I noticed the driver side was pretty dry sounding and after 90k miles, I thought I might as well replace both. Also a good chance to clean up the front end. Looked pretty grotty when I took everything off (slide hammer for the hubs) but only surface rust which cleaned off pretty well. Even the dust cover for the brake disks cleaned up though there was a lot of rust pitting but they were still surprisingly solid. Treated all relevant areas with rust treatment and painted the hub carriers, dust covers and caliper brackets. Plenty of anti-seize so that any future work might be easier, though all the bolts came out without a problem anyway. Good for another few miles hopefully.

Cheers. It’s a shame that the only way to really get to the dust guard (especially the back) is to take off the hub - not something that you want to do just for that but I’m glad I seem to have caught the guard before it was too late. I think the rears are in better condition as they don’t seem to take the same hammering.

Tesco Momentum is what my car loves best. I do fill up with other premium fuels too, like that Shell Girlpower one, just to avoid getting the same additives all the time, but Momentum gives me the best mpg, and almost as good a power delivery as the Shell one.
Today though I couldn’t get any, as the local Tesco store is getting a facelift, petrol station included.
