Yes, a retirement present from my wife & kids. Fantastic thing to do (especially as my Dad was a Spitfire pilot during the war) and one to remember the rest of my days.
Good for you!
I flew in a Spitfire from Goodwood five years ago, and it was truly the most amazing experience - an absolute dream come true for me!
Blimey.
They don’t exactly drop out the moulds like him any longer.
I’m about to commence…way later than planned…the excellent Tamiya “Big Kit” Round the World Silver Spitfire.
Had to go to the States for slides…no really…silly eh.

Got a bit of the original inner wing strut off wartime Girty.

I do have a soft spot for both Hurricanes & Spitfires.
There’s a Spit like that with a 'copter with photo/film takers that flies around here at weekends. Where was yours Davy?
Good photo of you Dad! The Spit that flies round here comes from North Weald, which is just a few minutes flying time north of my home. During the BoB that had Hurricanes based there, as did it’s satellite fields, Hornchurch which was a similar distance west of home had Spitfires.
Not strictly photographed by me, but by my husband!
Just landed after my flight - I am the one sitting in the rear cock-pit grinning from ear to ear!!!
Bought a new toy over the weekend - Nikon Z50 mirrorless, low light performance is better than my old full frame D810 and it’s so small and light! Very impressed so far
WOW! Excellent photos. Love the cat! Yours?
PS: What focal length lens was that taken with?
Thank you
Yes the cat is mine, 300mm f6.3 at ISO 5000. Duck was with the same 55-300mm lens fully extended
Thanks! Great stuff! I really should get my gear out and do some picture shooting!!!
How does the focal length compare to full frame/35mm?
It’s the equivalent of approx 450mm full frame
