I love the rusty whatever it was thingy.
Strange how rust is a thing of beauty on old machinery but on our cars, oh no!!
I have done somthing on the same lines however its not for flowers its for my tumbling tomato cherry plant baskets all 11 of them
It’s part of a hand winch and still turns even after many years exposed to the weather. There are granite rail tracks which lead away from the quarry and a granite hut which they used as shelter when they were blasting.
Absolutely fascinating, thank you.
Here’s me thinking it was a Morris Marina ring gear. Just goes to show eh?
Morris Marina gearbox linkage…A load of rods and elastic bands!
Meet Arlo.
The Grandson some said I’d not last out to see 3 years back.
Not quite ready to throw the towel in.
It’s slowly coming for me…just not quite yet.

Our pond has produced two unusual events (water 2" low is not unusual),
- Our ancient Elodea has bloomed for the first time since 1986, loads of tiny white flowers, too small and bright for the phone camera to expose them properly
- The new water lily (new six years ago) has finally produced an opening flower, but only for a couple of hours at the peak of midday sun on each of the last few hot days, same problem with the camera requiring a fiddle for the pic. Another bud is also peeping out, but will it flower?
I assume the high UV is making the flowers fluoresce.
