What have you Photographed lately?

Well, TBH, 3 years back a Specialist Cardilogist told me & my wife I should go home and get my affairs in order…eg Will and so on. I decided it was not my time…will be soon enough…so I’m here today for a grandchild I thought I’d never see. My new benchmark is to see him into Infant Playgroup. Never say Never.

Nice. I’ve always wanted to go there, but it’s about 5 hours from me and takes forever if you go on a train (multiple change overs). Nice pics.

Took my sweetheart for a couple of hours down Cardiff Bay.

Took some pics by the ‘Norwegian Church’

In this one, behind the curved wall is a sea lock where years ago cargo boats used to dock

I got a couple of nice pics of red kites feeding while we were in Wales last weekend. The red kite feeding centre at Rhayader is well worth a visit (feeding time is 3 pm in the summer months - book in advance at weekends).

Dusted off the camera after washing the car. I don’t think the composure really works but it was close to home and I was tired.

Went to get some coffee in an ASDA, and couldn’t resit taking a pic in ‘my’ car parking area.
P.S I didn’t go in one of the bays even further on, as as I was driving towards the area, I thought I saw silvery stuff in them, so thought best to avoid.

Been sitting on our balcony watching the Mille Miglia cars go by. Guys opposite handing out glasses of wine to the drivers. Only in Italy!! 100’s of stunning cars!

Spent the last couple of days with a neighbour building and painting a fence and gate at the end of the little lane beside our group of 4 houses. This used to be a field entrance a while ago but no longer (and certainly not now!). We are creating a small sitting area on the other side of the fence so we can all take in the view across the the fields to the Tweed valley and the Cheviot hills in the distance (with a small shandy or similar in hand).

What a view :clap:t3:

Can I ask what you used for the fence paint? I like the colour and I’ll need to re-do some of ours shortly.

It’s Cuprinol ‘Wild Thyme’ (that’s the colour, not the painting experience). All our fences are done with this and it’s a nice light colour but not ‘in your face’ bright. We put up and painted our other fences when we moved in a couple of years ago and it still looks as though it’s just been done so seems to be durable - it goes on and easily and covers other colours no problem.

Went for a walk on the beach today - this is the local Estuary. The Shags on the rock are bit far away for my phone camera!

Not sure if that sort of stuff is allowed on the forum , either

Nice. If I put a pic of my house on the forum, members would set up a ‘just giving’ page for me

Wish I’d thought of that 2 years ago when it looked like this!

Yes what a transformation.
Mind you, those Veluxes are freaking me out. There isn’t much in life I detest more than those evil things.

I guess they are the easier choice for a loft conversion, but no real problems apart from making the upstairs very warm in hot weather (though at least it also warms the place in winter when the sun shines), they can be noisy during heavy rain and they attract any dust, tree pollen and bird droppings, usually right after they are cleaned of course - actually makes them sound less than ideal when I start listing the downsides. Thankfully, they are easy to clean - is that a plus?
