Think I might need to upgrade from this - Which I got over 10 years ago…

I know what you mean! I sat on a step ladder the other side of our iron gate from the nest and they ignored me. The camera was only a metre away, but even on a bright sunny day the little Blue Tots’s wings move so fast they are a blur.
All my other bird shots are of sitting birds. eg this puffin, Farne Islands 08/06/2015
And a seal just North of Anglesey 05/09/2018 (300mm lens, we were a safe distance away on a boat)
Still better than my efforts lol, I’m far too slow!
Love puffins, amazing birds
Thank you for the comments, I’ll pass them on to him. He was so pleased with it. He sat still taking shots of the birds for nearly 40 minutes, watching them feeding and trying to get them flying.
Yeah you definitely need patience there, I think that’s probably my problem, I don’t have any
Brilliant!
nice pix.
thanks for info on new and old cameras too
Butterflies are excellent
Nice cameras the OM series. Started with OM1s and then OM2 & OM4 both of which I still use occasionally.
I passed the OM1 onto the daughter to photograph her kids 30 years ago. Now her eldest(27) is using the OM1 when he likes to go “retro”! Not bad for a 50 year old camera.
There is an article somewhere that shows you how to use silver oxide cell in a modified mercury cell housing.
Google : “the mercury cell problem and its solutions”
Slightly heavier nature shot, showing what happens when two jousting horses meet and there is a lance in between - it shatters into little bits. Kelmarsh 06/09/2015
Cracking shot
Excellent! I’m too slow for them too lol
I took out the OM1n mercury cell thirty years ago. I wrapped it up in a plastic bag, and checking just now it still has volts although it looks grotty! I also have a new unopened one, but again it is equally ancient.
This is the kit of bits, ignoring the leather case which needs a clean-up.
