I was lucky enough to see it fly several times, and even luckier with the beautiful sky on the day I took this one!
A lucky visit to Coningsby 10/08/2017 on a staff open day (we were public the other side of the wire) and we saw the Battle of Britain Flight doing its stuff as well as some of the current planes. After they landed we were told a bit more about it and what they had been doing.
Blimey! That is good!

A big beauty! I think it’s a Cordulegaster boltonii - Gold-ringed dragonfly. That would take skill and patience. Congrats!!!
Thanks, only had a few passes before it zoomed away and patrolled another area of the pond, and thank goodness the light was good. I’m going to try again later this year at the same spot.
Nice cat! Yours?
I bet that she’s not called “Tiddles”!
I believe she is called “spot”…
Nice Kitty I think is the best I would be able to manage up close…
Names? Hmm… might be Tschuna if female, if you can tell? Vladimir perhaps if the male. Not sure if it is one of the grown up cubs though?
Last year one came up to the fence, stared me out and showed its teeth! Now even with the fence between us, I felt the hair stand up on my neck.
With all these fantastic pictures of aircraft being taken with some really nice cameras, I thought I would add this… The Spitfire was the gate guardian at Manston Aerodrome, but it was taken with the then state of the art Polaroid camera, by my friends dad, it was while I was on a camping holiday with them in 1968. If my memory serves me right, he had to wipe a fixer over the picture once it had been taken and yes that is me at 12 years old.
I somehow think the “fixer” didn’t work!
Somehow “Two Years Before The Mast” comes to mind.
Back garden definitely counts
4 years ago now, these were in Krka National Park in Dalmatia, absolutely beautiful place to visit. Only a humble phone camera but, hey!
wow that looks amazing!
